The Big Changes You Missed in Disney World

With just a few more days until 2023, we’re counting down to a very exciting year for Disney World!

Animal Kingdom

Next year will mark The Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary, the opening of the TRON Coaster, the completion of the EPCOT transformation, and so much more. We can’t wait to see what the new year has in store, but for now, we’re checking out the construction projects to see what has changed in the past week!

Magic Kingdom

As usual, we’re starting out at the TRON coaster, where the landscaping is almost complete! All the main walkways are paved at this point, and most of the trees are in the planters.

It looks like we’ve got just a few finishing touches until the exterior of the attraction is done, and we can’t wait!

EPCOT

Over at EPCOT, we’ve seen some changes with the construction at Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana. Part of the walkway through the attraction was paved this week. (Lots of concrete pouring happening in Disney World right now!)

Moana Attraction construction

If you missed it — a few weeks ago the giant Te Fiti sculpture arrived onsite, and it is stunning! We’re excited to check out these details up close.

It’s all so detailed!

And next door, we’ve seen progress with CommuniCore Hall as well. The building got more support beams added recently.

It’s coming along!

There is a LOT of equipment and supplies at the construction zone, so we’re hoping to see some big changes in the coming weeks and months.

Hollywood Studios

Not much has changed over at Roundup Rodeo BBQ in Toy Story Land…at least from what we can see. The new restaurant is still covered in scaffolding and various tarps.

The restaurant’s opening date was pushed back to spring 2023 recently, so they’re on less of a time crunch to get it completed.

Disney Resorts

Over at the Grand Floridian Resort, we’ve seen some updates happening at a few of the buildings in recent months. During your stay, you may notice scaffolding and hear construction noise.

Recently, many rooms were updated with new decor and furniture, so that is likely the reason for the work going on here.

Disney Springs

Finally, we’re stopping by Disney Springs! A new restaurant called Summer House on the Lake is under construction here, and the progress is now tall enough that it can be seen over the construction wall. It will be opening sometime in 2023.

Look at it all!

Those are all the updates we have for you this week, but stay tuned for more news in the coming days. We can’t wait for 2023 in Disney World, it’s going to be an exciting year with a lot of new additions!
