We had a trip scheduled for all of next week beginning the 19th., but we had to cancel due to a school schedule change for our grandchildren. They were supposed to be off that week. But, with that being said, we would’ve canceled anyway due to Florida’s Covid rate. Hopefully 2022 will be a better option.
Just wondering has Disney reached that breaking point in terms of price and reduced amenities . There is definitely a reduction in park attendance, COVID and school opening only accounts for part of this reduction. I can only assume that there is a correlation regarding resort hotel occupancy and even cancellations . Maybe management will get a wake up call?
You might be on to something. I think when “Epic Universe” opens up it will get much worse at WDW. Star Wars was a massive fail.
I kind of doubt that’s the case at this point. My “trifecta” of reasons for the current situation are some combination of the following: 1) historically one of the lowest attended times of the year, 2) people delaying their September visits to October because of the 50th anniversary, and 3) Florida currently being (or at still least perceived as being as cases rise everywhere else) the epicenter of COVID. I personally think #3 is the major reason right now – those worried about COVID look at case numbers and decide not to come, while those who ignore it don’t come because of mask requirements. It will be interesting to see how strongly attendance bounces back in the Fall, especially if COVID calms down a bit and mask requirements are dropped again. That’s what will tell you if they’ve gone to far with prices and cutbacks.
