During much of 2020, mobile orders had become a mainstay in many theme parks. Although it was sometimes a challenging process, mobile orders helped to promote social distancing, public safety, and fewer crowds.

As health and safety requirements continue to be rolled back, that means many of the services that we’ve gotten used to, like mobile order, could be rolled back too. And recently, a big mobile order change hit Universal Orlando!
When checking out the app today, we noticed that mobile ordering options have significantly decreased at Universal Orlando. While there used to be several options in both parks, we are seeing very few restaurants participating in mobile order.

Richter’s Burger Co., and the Leaky Cauldron at Universal Studios and Volcano Bay still offer the service. Volcano Bay, however, requires you to pay for premium seating in order to mobile order. No food locations at Islands of Adventure offer mobile ordering currently.

We used to see many more options including the Three Broomsticks, Mel’s Drive-In, and the Today Cafe. There are still a few locations in CityWalk that offer mobile order including Cinnabon, Bread Box Handcrafted Sandwiches, Voodoo Doughnuts, and Red Oven Pizza Bakery.

It is unclear why Universal removed so many restaurants, and it is possible that they could return. We’ll continue to keep an eye on the mobile order situation at Universal Orlando, and give you the latest updates. We’re always keeping up with the latest theme park news, so stay tuned for more!

Love no mobile ordering. Shouldn’t have to carry a phone just to order food. Its a vacation we don’t like carrying phones. Thank you universal
Agree 100%. Hope Disney follows suit.
