When Disney World reopened their theme parks last summer, guests could visit Relaxation Stations to temporarily remove their face mask. While the resort’s face mask policy originally stated that face masks must be worn at all times except when actively eating or drinking, the one exception could be found at these select locations.

Now that Disney World has implemented new policies that allow guests to remove their face masks in most outdoor settings if they wish, there may no longer be a need for these Relaxation Stations!
We stopped by Star Wars Launch Bay, one of the Relaxation Station locations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, to see if the changes had been implemented.

Here’s a photo of what the Launch Bay looked like as a Relaxation Station…

…and here’s what it looked like today. The tables and floor markers have been removed, and guests can now visit Star Wars Launch Bay as a normal attraction.

However, we noticed that a large portion of the Launch Bay is currently roped off to guests, so there isn’t much to do inside at this moment! Guests must keep their face masks on while visiting and eating and drinking is not allowed the Launch Bay.

Close by, the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular has been blocked off with ropes so guests are unable to enter the area.

However, there is a temporary Relaxation Station next door, where all guests are able to take off their masks (since it’s outside) There are also distanced tables in order to keep guests apart from one another.

In the Magic Kingdom, we saw a few changes to Relaxation Stations as well! Guests were previously able to go inside Pete’s Silly Sideshow in order to take off their masks. However, now that policies have changed, a sign on the door states that the area is closed.

Instead, guests are able to sit in the outdoor Relaxation Station in Storybook Circus, as the mask policy allows everyone to be maskless in these situations.

While the actual Golden Oak Outpost building is quiet in the Magic Kingdom, the seating area is a comfortable place to take break next door!

Tables and chairs are still distanced from one another, so guests can relax safely apart from other parties throughout the day.

The Akershus Royal Banquet Hall has closed to guests as well…

…while the Morocco Pavilion has left its table seating outdoors open to guests as a relaxation station.

We’ll keep an eye out to see if and when additional Relaxation Stations are removed and those locations are converted back to their original purpose!

Going the end of October. Had to postpone last October. Looking better and better every day. Hope by then it will be fully opened.
The relaxation stations also afforded shelter in a rainstorm and air conditioning. Our family enjoyed the station near the Frozen attraction in Norway. We had never been in that building, shocked to see it is a gorgeous castle inside. It’s huge! Opulent. I was honored to be allowed to take respite there. We were in an impressive Norwegian castle, drinking water and snacking on popcorn! Alas, all good things must come to an end. The sooner Disney World gets back to full capacity and allows Annual passes to be sold again, the happier Disney Fans will be
