Disney has been updating a lot of their health and safety measures in Disney World parks and resorts recently.

They have already begun phasing out temperature checks for Cast Members and will begin doing so for all guests very soon and they’re starting to gradually reduce physical distancing guidelines. And, more is set to change again — Disney World’s face mask policy has been updated in response to new CDC guidance.
Disney has announced that guests, regardless of their vaccination status, will no longer be required to wear face masks when outdoors in the Disney World parks and resort area beginning tomorrow, May 15th.

Similar to updated health and safety measures at Universal Orlando, Disney will still require guests to wear face masks when waiting in queues for rides, on rides, when in shops, dining locations, other indoor areas, and on transportation.

The new guidelines make the use of face coverings optional in outdoor common areas around Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney had already permitted guests to remove their face masks when taking photos or actively eating or drinking in the park, so these updates relax the face mask policy further.

We’ll continue to bring you the latest updates on Disney World’s health and safety measures and how they are implementing the new mask policy. Stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!

With a late August trip we are overjoyed. I truly believed they were going to wait as long as Bob Chapek stated until 2022.
Confusing mask strategy. The wearing of masks at DisneyWorld has become somewhat arbitrary. Better to have an all or nothing policy. Make it compulsory in all areas until it’s safe to dispense with them altogether. I can foresee arguments in areas where the lines for rides are close to walking areas.
Just in time! We will be there the 19th-23rd. So excited!!
