Disney Cruise Line vacations have been suspended or delayed for much of the year due to the global health crisis.
A meeting was held with Port Galveston’s Board of Trustees and Port Director/CEO, Rodger Rees. The members discussed what Disney Cruise Line capacity, disembarkation, and embarkation may look like when sailings begin again.
The cruise disembarkation process can take a while and guests usually find themselves waiting in a confined room until they board the ship. Disney Cruise Line plans to reduce crowding by limiting the number of people inside the terminal with port arrival times. Reese also mentioned that air circulation will be improved inside the terminal.
As far as capacity, Disney Cruise Line will target a 70% occupancy level when cruises begin at the Port of Galveston again. All Disney Cruise vacations have been suspended until the end of October. As of now, Cruises departing from Galveston are set to resume at the end of November, unless more cancellations occur.
Disney recently announced that the Cruise Line’s website will be down while ships are docked. They plan to implement some system upgrades to the online check-in process. We will continue to keep you informed on Disney Cruise Line updates as we learn more!

We are waiting to see if our December 5 night cruise happens. Who knows, at this point? I had just set up the most perfect reservations for our August cruise when it got cancelled, and now I can’t even get excited and plan online, since the system is down. What a mess. I was on the Magic during a Norovirus outbreak, and I trust DCL to handle a similar mass outbreak.
Oh my I have tears in my eyes I am so excited that our galveston cruise has the best chance of a go!!!!!
