Eight Souvenirs You Won’t Regret Buying When You Get Home from Disney World

Do you bring an empty suitcase on all your trips to Walt Disney World? ‘Cause we absolutely do! However not every souvenir is that great when you get home in the cold light of everyday life.

Big Top Souvenirs

These are some of our favorite souvenirs that you won’t regret when you get home.

Coffee Mugs

Coffee mugs are one of the most practical souvenirs you can pick up in Disney World. What better way to start your day than drinking out of a fun Disney mug from your last trip? Sometimes we find the fun mug helps us wake up almost as much as the coffee. Most mugs are in the $20-$25 range, and there are mugs featuring characters to delight everyone.

Artwork and Statues

Another great way to bring some of the Disney magic home with you is artwork. Also nothing says you’re a real adult like having art on your wall or a statue on your bookshelf. These can be an expensive collection to start but will last longer than most souvenirs. There are also usually cheaper options to start out with as well that are great entry points. You can pick up a hand-drawn Disney character sketch from a Disney artist for $30-50 depending on what you would like drawn. There are some small statues that you can get for anywhere from $30 on up. Look for Art of Disney shops in EPCOT’s World Showcase and in Disney Springs, and keep your eyes peeled for artwork for sale in the Parks and Resorts, too.

Pins

This is one of the most fun Disney souvenirs to collect because there can be a bit of searching involved in getting them. Disney enamel pins are a time-honored tradition in Disney World. Most cast members have a lanyard with pins and can trade up to two pins with each guest everyday. So if you come into the Parks with a lanyard full of pins you don’t love, you can trade for some characters you really want. When you leave the Park you can use these pins as little accents on your backpack, purse, and the lapel of your jacket. It’s a nice way to add some Disney flair to your everyday life.

Pins

(Note: Upon reopening, pin trading at Disney World has moved to pin boards rather than cast member lanyards. But you can still have fun trading up your collection!)

Dress Shop Dress

The Dress Shop has become on the of top destinations for Disney attire. The charming dresses are crafted in fun Disney patterns. We know that these dresses aren’t necessarily something that your would wear everyday, but it could be a fun way to jazz up a fancy boring event (and if you’re wearing them everyday, we salute you!). The Dress Shop is located in the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs.

T-Shirts

Depending on what your typical wardrobe is, a Disney t-shirt is a great functional souvenir. Much like the mugs and pins, there are tons of different Disney t-shirts featuring characters and slogans from almost every Disney movie. A t-shirt is also a great way to recognize another die hard Disney fan out in the wild. Disney shirts range from $20-$30 at most gift shops in Disney World.

Cookies, Candy, and Caramel Corn

Disney snacks are one of the most practical souvenirs you can pick up in Disney World. This gives you a taste of Disney World when you are back home. You won’t regret for one second filling your suitcase with cookies from Minnie’s Bakeshop or some flavored Caramel Corn. They also make great gifts for your friends and family who stuck in real life while you lived it up Disney style.

Tiki Mugs

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is a tiki bar in the Polynesian Village Resort in Disney World. The collectible tiki mugs at Trader Sam’s have a following of their own. When Trader Sam’s releases new mugs at Halloween and Christmas, there are lines around the Resort of people waiting to buy them. The tiki mugs work like a combination of the coffee mugs and the artwork we already discussed. They look great on a shelf near or in a bar area. They are also perfect to drink your mixed cocktails during a summer barbecue.

Lightsabers and Droids

Okay, so these might not be the most practical souvenirs you can buy in Disney World, but they are just so cool they had to be on our list. If you are a Star Wars fan, there is no better souvenir to bring home than you very own custom or legacy Lightsaber or an Astromech Droid. If as a child you made Lightsaber sound effects every time you picked up every wrapping paper tube, these are the souvenirs for you. You can pick up a Lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop (and usually Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities) and a Droid at the Droid Depot. Similar to the artwork, these make great display pieces in your home and work as reminders of your trip to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.

Savi’s Workshop

There are tons of great souvenirs in Disney World and if we could bring the whole park home we would.

  1. I have to say I was shocked at how bad the quality of the clothing was on our last trip – I went in 2002, 2017 and early 2020 – we have also done trips to DLP in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and I always look forward to buying clothes but this time I found it hard to justify the expense when the quality was so so so poor.

  2. I have looked and haven’t seen but someone told me that they will no longer deliver your purchased to your resort room. Is that true?

  3. We love picking up a new cookbook to recreate some of our Disney food favorites when we’re back in the real world!
