NEWS: These Three Disney World Attractions Will Reportedly Be Permanently Closing!

As Disney World opens to introduce new things, a few of our old favorites will be leaving the parks.

Rivers of Light: We Are One

Although Disney has already started to create new attractions, restaurants, and more coming soon, experiences that have been in the parks for a bit of time will be retiring soon.

According to reporter Scott Gustin, Disney has confirmed that three of its attractions will not be reopening in the parks. Although they have all been closed for a prolonged period of time, Animal Kingdom’s Primeval Whirl and Rivers of Light along with Magic Kingdom’s Stitch’s Great Escape will reportedly be permanently closed.

Primeval Whirl was a roller coaster attraction that would only open seasonally, so it wasn’t offered year-round in DinoLand, U.S.A. Stitch’s Great Escape has already been closed since 2018 with no new plans for a replacement attraction. However, guests would be able to go inside for photos with Stitch during events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

  1. I agree- PW was a nice fun ride- One of my must dos as the line was never insane and the ride was just fun. You took a beating but worth it

  2. I think they should just change rivers of light. What a waste of all that seating. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t a must do. It COULD be really great.

  6. Stitch’s should become a Big Hero 6 attraction of some sort.

  7. Losing Primeval Whirl is a shame. It was always fun and a throwback to old boardwalk and amusement park rides. It was a good fit for the location in Dinoland. Can’t help but wonder what Disney is thinking with this one or what they are thinking of doing there.
    Rivers of Light was a one and done show. It was good at one time but the changes didn’t improve it.
