Are you ready to go somewhere beyond the sea?
Then, just keep swimming over to one of the best rides in Epcot! And, no — you don’t have to travel all the way to 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney, to experience it.
While the Magic Kingdom is known for Cinderella Castle, Animal Kingdom for the Tree of Life, and Hollywood Studios for the Chinese Theatre, Epcot is recognized for its grand silver ball, gorgeous array of World Showcase country pavilions, and memorable attractions. Most visitors gravitate toward the more popular rides, like Test Track, Frozen Ever After, and Soarin’ Around the World. However, throughout the many hours (and many steps!) I have spent walking around the expanse of Future World and the World Showcase Lagoon, I can’t help but return to one underrated Epcot attraction: The Seas with Nemo and Friends.
I know what you’re probably thinking— Why would you use your limited park time to go on The Seas, instead of a thrill ride like Test Track? But, hear me out for a second!
As you step out of the Florida heat into the cool, air-conditioned area for a moment, you immediately take a dive into the “Big Blue World.” Once you’re inside, not only is there the Nemo attraction, but there is also an entire aquarium filled with different fish, stingrays, manatees, and more to take a look at! Personally, I think this is a reason alone to visit. Additionally, if you keep an eye out, there are a few hidden Mickeys within the tanks.
After you enter the ride line for The Seas with Nemo and Friends, you begin the journey of Finding Nemo, too. You take a splash underneath the waves with Nemo and Marlin, staring up at the boat “butts” above. When you’ve boarded your clam shells — think Journey of the Little Mermaid style — the story of Finding Nemo is portrayed through projections of Nemo, Marlin, Dory, and other animated fish friends into the actual sets you travel past. You even get to make your way through a jellyfish field and a ship graveyard. Although, my personal favorite is the awesome EAC scene, dudes.
Arguably, the best part of the ride is the ending, when the animated projections are integrated into the actual aquariums with real fish. If you want more time with the characters from Finding Nemo after you exit The Seas with Nemo and Friends, you can pop by Turtle Talk with Crush across the room or Bruce’s Sub House playground for the kids.
Despite it being one of the most relaxing and enjoyable rides in Epcot, The Seas with Nemo and Friends usually has little to no wait at all to ride. Whether you are a huge Finding Nemo fan, an aquatic animal lover, or you just want to get out of the sun, The Seas with Nemo and Friends is definitely worth stopping by.

This didn’t exist yet during my last trip in January 2012 so nope, I haven’t ridden it.
Can’t think of any reason someone wouldn’t like this ride. If you are after thrill rides, you are kinds in the wrong park. If test track is your idea of a “thrill” ride, … Nemo fits fine, the seagulls are funny, and the projection on to the live aquarium is one of the neatest features. The aquarium proper is always full of people. People love the Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Pater Pan’s Flight is always one of the longest lines in the Magic Kingdom… but suddenly some comments don’t like the movie-in-5-minutes rides.
I’m on both sides it is nice to be able to go to an attraction and not wait last two times we went there was no wait time. And was great to cool off and enjoy. And the best is the end checking out the aquarium. The ride it self is enjoyable but could use a little change up. But my daughter always liked to stop in to see tge aquarium. And it is nice to be out of the crowds for alittle.
This ride is a good judge of crowd levels at Epcot. If Nemo has a wait longer than 20 minutes you know it’s busy!
I love this ride except for the EAC part. I have to close my eyes or I’ll get motion sickness. I think the projections in the water are the coolest thing Disney has ever done!
If you love nature and the sea its a great ride if not you won’t get the idea it was made for.

Fully agree – The Living Seas was much better. This was a very poor excuse of trying to force movie IP into Epcot as cheaply as possible.
In another article you are saying Nemo and Friends is the “worst OmniMovers ride.”. This reminds me of the articles in golf magazines. One month they say the secret is to keep your left arm stiff. Then the following month they say to bend the left arm for a better swing. At least the golf mags. wait a month before they completely contradict themselves.
Actually, Ken, the post on the OmniMovers says, “Sorry Nemo, we mean no offense. Honestly, we love this attraction and the Sea life exhibits at the end.” We explicitly say we love the ride, but if we’re comparing OmniMover rides, we like others better. It’s not a contradiction.
Fair enough. I agree, after you get past the title, the article does say it’s a decent ride. Perhaps the title of the other article should not have included “the worst”. That certainly connotes that it’s not not good.
