This Popular Arizona Tourist Attraction Has a Strong Disney Connection

The second most popular tourist attraction in the state of Arizona, after the majestic Grand Canyon, has a strong Disney connection. The London Bridge, located on the banks of Lake Havasu in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, draws visitors from far and wide to check out what is arguably one of the most unique destinations in the world. The bridge, as well as the city itself, were the brainchild of Robert McCulloch and C.V. Wood, who was a key figure in the construction of Disneyland.

Epcot, the second of four theme parks to be built on Walt Disney World property since 1971, is currently undergoing a major overhaul, with new shows and attractions in the works to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the opening of The Vacation Kingdom of the World in central Florida. But the Epcot that opened on Oct. 1, 1982, was a far cry from the Epcot envisioned by Walt Disney in the 1960s.
