Disneyland Half Marathon 2012 – Part 3, The Food

Friday night we had dinner at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. We don't eat here very often, and I don't really know why, because we always look at the menu and have a hard time choosing - there are so many things that look good! I had made a priority seating for 8:00, and we were quickly seated at an outdoor table on the ground floor right against the railing, so we had a great spot to people-watch those going by.

Disneyland Half Marathon 2012 – Part 2

Another Disneyland Half Marathon completed! We had a very good race, and finished in 2:25:30, which is a really good time for us in a Disney race since we stop for photos – though we didn’t stop for all the characters this time. This year the half marathon started a little earlier – at 5:45 … Continue reading "Disneyland Half Marathon 2012 – Part 2"

Disneyland Half Marathon 2012 – Part 1

Labor Day weekend - that means it's once again time for the Disneyland Half Marathon! We will be running it Sunday morning with 16,998 of our closest friends (and a number of Team AllEars teammates, as well). This will be the 7th Disneyland Half Marathon, and our 5th time running it. We really enjoy it. They have tweaked the parks part of the course again this year because Cars Land and Buena Vista Street our now open! So we'll get to run through Cars Land tomorrow. We've made a long weekend of it, and arrived on Friday night. We are using our DVC points to stay at the Villas at the Grand Californian (we love this resort). We're on the 5th floor, and this was what we saw when we arrived in our room Friday night! Grizzly Peak and a blue moon over the Tower of Terror. We can also see the Cadillac Range in Cars Land through the trees. It's a great location.

There’s a series of photo books called, A Day in the Life, of which I own the California and Hollywood editions. A group of photographers set out for a 24 hour period photographing people of all types and ages. Some were photo shoots set up by appointment while others were by chance. This series inspires … Continue reading "Disney Pic of the Week – A Day in the Life of AllEars.Net"

Silliness is Seriously Supported

I was on my best behavior the first time I dined at Disneyland’s exclusive Club 33, honestly. Alright I did take some funny photos of my friends and joke around with our waiter. My second visit was even more animated as I was joined by 5 friends and we tried keeping our volume down while … Continue reading "Silliness is Seriously Supported"

Flying Elephants

I always see moms and dads taking photos from ground level of their kids riding Dumbo. It’s difficult to do because the kids are moving, they’re not always looking for you, and you’ve got a bit of an awkward angle. Another option is to ride Dumbo, sitting in the elephant that’s in front of your … Continue reading "Flying Elephants"

Light Meter: Got Characters?

I’ll admit it to you all, right here and now. I’m a character junkie. I need to have photos of every character I can possibly find and in every outfit possible. Mickey Mouse in his space suit? Got it. Pluto in his workout clothes? Got it. Aladdin as Prince Ali? Got it. The Evil Queen … Continue reading "Light Meter: Got Characters?"
