It's big, it's bright, it's shinny. The inside queue is just about as good as it gets. The story itself is pretty good, even if you realize this is almost 100% ripoff of Star Trek experience that used to be in Las Vegas. Once in the actual vehicle the magic fades away ,wizzing around an oversized set doesn't reach the heights promised by the queue experience.

Pros:

Queue

Cons:

Actual ride disappoints

The best technical ride. It imersis you into the world and everything is stunning. The long lines are worth it as the ride itself takes 15ish minutes and is so cool to experience. Def rope drop this in the morning tho if u want to avaid longer rides.

Pros:

The technology, the immersivity, The whole experience.

Cons:

Okay, Nov 2020 I had a hot take on this ride. I felt the fun ratio versus the stress of trying for a boarding group was not worth all they hype. It was not about skill. It was luck...who was the fastest at moving back and forth in the screens.

This recent trip I had a different view. The ride is amazing. But the standby line to get on is so much better than what it was before. At least everyone has a chance to ride it now.

If it doesn't break down.

Like it does. A lot.

Pros:

An awesome experience.

Cons:

Can have a very long wait. And the ride goes down a lot. Like....a whole lot. Like...it goes down because someone sneezed.

I liked this ride a lot! I liked the boarding pass the best though. This is really because it made it easier to ride other rides in the park while your group was waiting and then you were able to ride with a low wait time. It is a fun ride but I don’t think I’d rank it really high if I waited the 2hr plus wait time it’s been sitting at lately. I’d rather Pay for it and just have a fun time strolling thru the rest of Hollywood studios.

Pros:

Fun technology, very interactive

Cons:

Long wait times

I really wanted to love this ride and expected to be blown away. But I was left underwhelmed and slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I 100% appreciate everything the imagineers did to create this ride and the technology it took to pull it off. But I never got goosebumps. It just felt overhyped and I think that may be part of the reason I was slightly disappointed at the end.

It was neat to walk into the room with all the stormtroopers and my favorite part was when we saw the large at-at walkers. I also appreciated that we went from inside to walking outside and then going back in for the rest of the ride. I wasn't expecting that. However, I just felt some emotional connection or soul was missing from the ride. When the Star Wars theme played nothing really happened for me. When I watch the movies at home or in theaters and the Star Wars theme plays it gives me goosebumps and I'm in no way a big Star Wars fan. I was hoping for that moment on Rise.

Am I glad I rode Rise? Of course. But I would never wait in the insane long lines for it, and there are lots of other rides in Hollywood Studios I would ride again before I go ride Rise.

Pros:

Large At-At Walkers, great attention to detail

Cons:

Felt overhyped, not worth the long lines

I don’t get how anyone in their right mind could ever say this ride is overrated and not worth the hype!!! Anyone who says that is clearly a first order member who doesn’t like that we the resistance gets away

Pros:

This ride is AWESOME!!!!

Cons:

There are none!!!

This review will probably sound irrelevant because it is based on our virtual queue experience, but anyways, we had to wake up at 6:50 A.M. and at exactly 7 AM, the virtual queue was unfortunately filled. We then tried again at one, and got a boaring group for 7 P.M., which was good, but it ruined our plans of going back to the resort to relax and to later park hop. So, after waiting around in Hollywood Studios for a few hours, our boarding group was called. I remember being rushed through the first few rooms, which were honestly too crowded to enjoy the environment. Then, the ride broke down, and we decided to wait in the attraction since we have already done everything else in the park. After we sat around in Rise of the Resistance for almost an hour doing nothing, we got to ride the actual ride part of the attraction, which was the best part of the whole attraction. Overall, I would recommend doing this attraction, but I wouldn’t recommend stressing over a virtual queue, if the system comes back to this attraction, or waiting several hours in the physical queue for this ride.

Pros:

Immersive experience

Cons:

Overrated; Long lines; breaks down a lot
