Must do for Harry Potter fans, and it is a good way to escape the heat when traveling to the other park! We really did not enjoy being seated so closely with strangers in the cabins. We haven’t been since pre-pandemic, but we are aware that this has changed. Now, all parties have their own cabins. I think that’s a great change! During the ride, you’ll see familiar characters walk by, and you are able to look out the “window” and see important scenery and even more characters. It is just a train ride, so there aren’t any thrilling elements here. It transports you between Hogwarts/Diagon Alley and vice versa.

Pros:

Unique Easier way to travel between parks

Cons:

During “normal” (pre-COVID) times, you are seating in a closed cabin with strangers unless you are a group of 6 or more people

I absolutely love love love this attraction, It is really well detailed and good for harry potter fans.

Pros:

It is different from when leaving and returning, so you get a new show on the way back.

Cons:

It does take quite a while so if you are in a time crunch I would avoid this attraction

Hogwarts Express is the best attraction at Universal. The immersive experience makes you feel you are just like the young wizard Harry Potter starting his trek to Hogwarts, complete with "going through the wall" to platform 9 3/4! This attraction is the most "Disneyesque" of all the Universal rides because you feel totally swept up into the story of Harry Potter. The train ride is wonderful because you really believe you are traveling from London through the picturesque countryside to Hogwarts and the world of wizards.

Pros:

Totally immersive experience.

Cons:

To experience this attraction fully, you must buy a two-park pass, one to Universal Studios, and one to Islands of Adventure, because the Hogwarts Express train connects the two parks.

Excellent ride is a must to complete the Harry Potter experience. Relaxing, on theme, great break in the day and way to transition to the other park and second part of the day

Pros:

Perfectly on theme

Cons:

If you didn’t purchase both park tickets you can’t experience it. Wish it had some more sets with the digital screens.

This is a fun experience and you have to ride it both ways because it is a different story going to Islands and back. I lobe the part with the dementors and truly feeling like I am riding on the Hogwarts Express. The theming is wonderful. The queue line is wonderful too.

Pros:

Theming, great transportation to and from parks, AC

Cons:

Must have a park hopper to ride.
