On April 1, I spent the afternoon at the Magic Kingdom. A lot had changed since my last visit less than a week before.
Part of City Hall is still behind a wall:
The new Mickey Mouse and Princesses meet-and-greet was open. Click here to see pictures of the new area.
Part of the Tony’s patio is now open. A smaller part is still behind the scrims:

Sidewalk had been added along the side of the Confectionery:

Magic Kingdom was very crowded and Tortuga Tavern and the Tomorrowland Terrace were serving meals:
The Haunted Mansion interactive queue was open on April 1. The ride had a very long wait to we decided to bypass the Haunted Mansion in favor of doing it early one morning soon.
Lots of progress has been made on the buildings for the Fantasyland expansion. The parts in the pictures were the most visible. You could see the rest but they had propped the trees higher up so it was hard to get pictures of it.
This area near Dumbo has been walled off:

This wall, for lack of a better term, was being built in the Storybook Circus area:
The Confectionery had springtime treats:
Tomorrowland Terrace was open for dinner when we went by:
We spent the evening at Downtown Disney. Work continues on the area for the dining area at the AMC Theater:
LittleMissMatched is still open on the West Side:
A new pin cart was set up near Bongos:
The Lego Store is still under construction:
The temporary tent near Once Upon a Toy is still open:
Work on the exterior of the former Mickey’s Mart has begun:
The wall is still up on Pleasure Island:
On April 2, we spent some time at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Sounds Dangerous was operating:
Walls are now up around the entrance area to Star Tours:
The walls are down around the speederbike photo-op area:
A Winnie the Pooh poster is up outside of the Magic of Disney Animation:
Pooh artwork is now being displayed at the Magic of Disney Animation:
On the other side of the case, Cars 2 artwork is displayed:
Some scaffolding is still on Tower of Terror. It has been getting an eco-friendly repainting- click here to read more about the new paint.

We have not been to Disney in 15 years and are taking my 3 year old for the first time…Since Fantasy land is under construction should we wait until next year since most of those rides are more in her age range or are there still enough rides that are age appropriate for her?

There are still plenty of rides that are age appropriate, not only in Fantasyland but in the Magic Kingdom.

Do they still have a princess meet and greet?

Yes, there is still a princess meet-and-greet. It’s now at Town Square Theater (formerly Exposition Hall) and will typically have 2-3 princesses there.
I know that Toon Town is closed, but is Goofy’s Barnstormer closed?
AllEars: Yes, Goofy’s Barnstormer is closed. It will reopen with the new Fantasyland expansion and be rethemed.
My family and I were at Magic Kingdom on Friday April 1st and I just wanted to say that even though the park was extremely crowded and I saw the line for ‘it’s a small world’ at 90 minutes, I am so amazed about the organization of everything! This was the first time I experienced Disney with toddlers (1 year old, 2 years old, and 3 years old) and it was enjoyable to see their faces when the parade was coming their way (we lined up early for my favorite spot in front of the barracks where the parade comes right at you). I love it all, and can’t wait for the Fantasyland expansion!
What is the status on Snow White’s Scary Adventures? Is it still open? Expected to close down anytime soon for the new renovations? I am going to be there May 8 and want to ride it one more time before it closes and get a picture of it for posterity. Thanks!

Snow White’s Scary Adventures is still open and will not close until 2012. Enjoy your trip! 🙂

I’m not sure if your statement is based on the pictures you see in this post, or from personal experience. My husband and I were up there a month ago, and we’ll be back this Saturday. Though Ashley’s pictures may make it appear that it’s all construction, that’s far from the case. Yes, there is a lot of construction in Fantasyland; however, in the other lands, there is no where near the amount of construction going on.
There is plenty for visitors to see and do. Here’s a link to our March 2010 pictures: http://www.theajays.com/photos/disney/march2011/index.html The beginning of them are from the TTA People Mover. You can see there is no construction visible in any of those. Hopefully, when people who haven’t been to the parks go and they notice any construction, they’ll realize that the park is 40 years old and Disney is just trying to better the park for every one.

Once again, love the updates….don’t care if it’s 3 days or 3 weeks…..Would love to be there every day if I could.
But for now have to settle for once a year….134 days away!!
I know they have to do work but MK looks like nothing but construction. I feel bad for families who are going for the first time.

Mickey’s Mart is closed for good. The space is being renovated to be the new home of the LittleMissMatched shop.
You state that area near Dumbo is walled off…is Dumbo closed?
We are going next Friday and that would be horrible!!

Dumbo is open. The area that is walled off is closer to the Snow White store. Have fun at Disney World!
