June 20th Will Be a HUGE Day for Universal Epic Universe Fans

Things are about to get EPIC once again…

Over the past several months, Universal has used viral clues to build anticipation for major reveals about the Universal Orlando Resort’s upcoming theme park Epic Universe. Now they’re at it again. 

On June 16th, Universal posted a small teaser on their social media account. The 11-second clip features a space background with a choral sound effect and the date 6.20.24. The clip was accompanied by a caption featuring the date once again as well as a small starburst emoji.

This reveal is right out of the playbook we’ve seen Universal use for most of this year. Small viral teases like this have preceded the releases of details for Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, and the How to Train Your Dragon-themed Isle of Berk. Usually, these releases include an in-depth look at the land’s rides, attractions, restaurants, and general aesthetics. 

At the time of the teaser,  there were only two lands left to reveal in full: Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic and the Universal Monsters-themed Dark Universe. 

The day after their cryptic social media post, Universal confirmed that the June 20th announcement will be in relation to Dark Universe.

As they have for their other Epic Universe reveals, the company mailed out a medallion coin that fits into the massive Chronos model that accompanied the first reveal earlier this year. The material promises the “secrets behind” the “shadowy world of monsters and mystery” that is Dark Universe.

While we wait for Universal’s Dark Universe announcements, we got a sneak peek at the Universal Epic Universe Preview Center in CityWalk! Inside, you can already buy merchandise for the park (it’s never too early, right?) and see an incredibly massive model of the theme park.

If recent history is any indication, June 20th will see a massive new information drop about Epic Universe, making the theme park’s official opening feel that much closer. Stay tuned to AllEars for further coverage of Universal’s latest park.
