You may have heard that Walt Disney World is offering its guests a chance to enter the new Toy Story Land early via a special ticketed program called Early Morning Magic.
With Early Morning Magic, you can gain exclusive access to the land before the park officially opens to other guests. In addition, you’ll be treated to a breakfast buffet at the ABC Commissary. This program is similar to one that has been in place at the Magic Kingdom for a few years now.
Early Morning Magic at Toy Story Land started on Sept. 17, so AllEars.Net went to check it out.
Originally, Early Morning Magic at the Studios was scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m., but due to the number of people attending, they may actually start letting you in at 7 a.m.
Once you check in and get your special wristband, you can make your way over to the ABC Commissary, where breakfast is being served, or over to Toy Story Land. It’s cool to see the park as it wakes up, practically empty.
Breakfast is served in the Commissary until 10 a.m., but regular park guests are allowed into the park at 9 a.m. If riding the three Toy Story Land attractions multiple times is your objective, you’ll want to head over there first. You’ll have about 90 minutes to ride before the crowds build, then you can eat later.
When you get to Toy Story Land, you’ll be greeted by a rare sight — a near-empty land with practically no waits to get on Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, or Toy Story Mania.
Once you’ve had your fill of fun, walk back over to the Commissary to fill up on food.
There’s quite an extensive buffet with cold items, including yogurt, cereal, fruit and assorted pastries.
You also get a choice of one hot entree. These all looked delicious — and they were definitely not your run-of-the-mill breakfast selections. The chefs here really upped their game.
Mexican Corn Chilaquiles and Eggs Bowl
Shrimp and Southern Grits Bowl
Fried Chicken and Cinnamon Sugar French Donut Bowl
Smashed Avocado Toast Egg Plate
Breakfast Charcuterie Platter
Kids aren’t forgotten — they can sample everything on the buffet. There are also kid-sized portions of the Fried Chicken and Cinnamon Sugar French Donut or Scrambled Eggs. Both come with Sweet Potato barrels.
Early Morning Magic takes place on select Mondays and Wednesdays. Note that it DOES NOT replace or conflict with Extra Magic Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Early Morning Magic is held on alternate days so that it does not affect Extra Magic Hours at all.
Admission to this special event is $79 (plus tax) per adult (ages 10 and older) and $69 (plus tax) per child (ages 3 to 9). Regular theme park admission is also required. So far, there appear to be no discounts for passholders or others.
Is it worth the money? It really depends on how desperately you want to experience the new Toy Story Land and see the characters there without having to wait in sometimes ridiculously long lines. If riding Slinky Dog Dash and the other attractions is important to you, and you don’t want to wait or waste time wrangling a Fastpass+, then Early Morning Magic might be for you.
If you decide it is, you can book Early Morning Magic at Toy Story Land on the Walt Disney World website or by calling (407) 827-7350.
Disclosure: We were invited by Walt Disney World to attend the media preview of Early Morning Magic in Toy Story Land and received a complimentary ticket for the event. This did not affect our reporting of the event — our opinions are our own.

When is the early morning magic available to guests staying on property? 180 days before we arrive to Disney?
Hi. You don’t have to be staying on Disney property to purchase the ticket for Early Morning Magic. If you look on Disney’s site, it seems that they have dates through January right now, so you could buy those tickets now. If you’re referring to Extra Magic Hour, there are no tickets necessary for resort guests for that. You can read more about it HERE.
