The Forgotten Ride Trend That’s Making a Comeback in Disney World

Summer is quickly approaching, and that means a few things in Disney World.

For one thing, crowds are about to get a LOT more intense. Heat is going to wipe your family clean of energy way before you think it will. All we can do about the heat is give your our tips and tell you to stay hydrated, and on top of that, you may have to wait in long, hot lines. To prepare, here’s what wait times looked like in the parks on Saturday, May 20th.

When looking at the wait times we noticed a forgotten trend that is starting to make a comeback — that is the family-friendly rides having HIGHER wait times than the popular thrill rides. Many families travel to Disney World during the summer which could be causing this change.

For example, in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Na’vi River Journey had a higher wait time than Flight of Passage (which is known for its long lines all day long). Also, rides like Toy Story Mania had higher wait times than Rise of the Resistance at one point. Take a look at all of the wait times below:

Magic Kingdom

Over in Magic Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train held the highest wait of the day at 90 minutes, until it closed in the early afternoon. Then, Peter Pan’s Flight and Space Mountain took over that slot for most of the day.

It constantly went back and forth with Flight of Passage as the highest wait time, but seeing it win out is a bit of a surprise.
