Major Mask Policy Changes, Figment Popcorn Bucket Update, And More Disney News You Missed!

It’s only February, but it sure seems like we’ve already had a year’s worth of Disney news!

He’s back!

We get it — it’s hard to keep track of all the news as it comes in, and you might’ve missed out on some of the bigger stories throughout the week. So we’re breaking down the biggest news from this past week to get you updated — Here are the Disney news stories you might’ve missed recently.

U.S. Disney Parks Update Mask Policies

We saw a major update to the face covering policies at both Disney World and Disneyland this week. As of February 17th, face masks are no longer required for fully-vaccinated guests at indoor locations in Disney World.

According to the Disney World website, “Face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations. We expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters. Face coverings will still be required by all Guests (ages 2 and up) on enclosed Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner.”

We also saw a similar policy update at Disneyland. The Disneyland website reads: “Beginning February 17, 2022, face coverings are required for unvaccinated Guests (ages 2 and older) in all indoor locations, including throughout indoor attractions and indoor queues. Face coverings are required for all Guests, regardless of vaccination status, in certain indoor settings including Disney shuttles and in health settings, such as in First Aid. Face coverings are optional for Guests in outdoor areas.”

Figment Popcorn Bucket Returns

The Figment Popcorn Bucket has returned, but the long lines to wait for it are a thing of the past. You can now order the popcorn bucket through Disney World’s Mobile Order on the My Disney Experience app. If you click on the plus sign at the bottom of the app and select Mobile Order and scroll down to the EPCOT options, you’ll see the popcorn bucket listed.

Right where all the food is!

Choose your arrival time, just like you would for any other mobile order, and then head over to World Showplace when your window of time arrives — then click on “I’m here.” When your popcorn bucket is ready, you’ll get a notification to pick it up.

Moonlight Magic Returns To Disney World

Being a Disney Vacation Club Member comes with some perks, including access to after hours events at Disney World parks called Moonlight Magic. However, Moonlight Magic events were suspended in 2020. But DVC members will soon be able to attend new Moonlight Magic events — they should expect an email from Disney around February 22nd with more details.

That first email will allow DVC members to register for the EPCOT Moonlight Magic events on March 17th and March 31st. Other events are scheduled throughout the rest of the year at the other parks, too, but registration will not yet be available for those.
