Former Disney CEO Bob Iger May Soon Buy An NBA Team

Former Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger has had a rather eventful past few months!

In early 2020, he stepped down as CEO and was replaced by Bob Chapek. For the last 18 months or so, he took a spot instead as the Executive Chairman of the board. Yesterday, he left that position at the end of his contract. Now, it looks like he may be considering some big career moves next!

According to Yahoo, Bob Iger is reportedly interested in purchasing the Phoenix Suns NBA team. Robert Sarver currently owns about 35% of the Phoenix Suns but is under investigation on allegations of racism and misogyny.

So how much would the team cost Iger? Well, currently the Suns are worth $1.8 billion. When Sarver purchased the team in 2004, it was for a record-breaking $401 million. Earlier this year, we reported that Iger made $21 million in 2020 alone.
