While many things have returned or reopened in Disney World, there are a fair few that still have not.

FastPass+, the Disney Dining Plan, and annual passes remain unavailable, but some of those are expected to return in the future. While restaurants have been gradually reopening, we have not seen the return of buffets, but that will change very soon.
Boma — Flavors of Africa will be the first buffet to reopen in Disney World!

We spoke to a Cast Member over chat who told us that it will be an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet at Breakfast and Dinner.

The restaurant is scheduled to reopen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge this Friday, August 20th, and reservations become available on Wednesday, August 18th.

Boma has been closed since the global pandemic shut down Disney World. Buffets have also not returned since the closures.

According to Disney, When Boma reopens, breakfast offerings will include creamy pap, turkey bobotie, pancakes, waffles, deviled eggs with salmon, and delicious freshly baked items from the Boma bakery.

For dinner, Boma will have things like pork ribs, salmon, African-spiced strip loin, Durban rotisserie chicken, and lamb bobotie. The kid’s cooking pod will have pasta and meatballs, mac n’ cheese, and chicken bites. The rotating selection of soups, stews, and chowders are back, as well as salads like berbere chickpea salad and North African cauliflower salad.

For dessert, guests will be able to enjoy Zebra Domes and a variety of other sweet treats.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is also scheduled to fully reopen on August 26th. Stay tuned to All Ears for a first look at the reopened restaurant and buffet this Friday!
