The Disney World monorail loop is home to three of the most popular and expensive hotels in the whole of Walt Disney World Resort.

It’s many a Disney fan’s favorite activity to visit Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Plus, you’re just a quick monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom! But there is one very big issue with the monorail loop resorts.
Here’s the one big problem with the Magic Kingdom Resort area!
Grand Floridian Pathway
Last year, Disney added the new walkway between Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom. Now, guests can walk between Disney World’s fanciest resort and Disney World’s flagship park.

This was a great addition, adding another option for accessing Magic Kingdom. Plus, it makes for a delightful stroll around Seven Seas Lagoon. Still, it did bring our attention to one very big issue.

A Walk Around Seven Seas Lagoon
Let’s say you want to walk around Seven Seas Lagoon. You can do that — almost. If you start at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, it’s true that you can make it almost all the way around.

There’s a walking path that connects the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom. From there, you can walk over to the new path between Magic Kingdom and Grand Floridian.

Once you’ve reached Grand Floridian, you can continue your tour on the path that connects Grand Floridian and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. And it’s a quick walk from the Polynesian over to the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Why Can’t We Walk All the Way Around?
BUT, and this is a BIG but, don’t think you’ll be walking from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Contemporary. If you want to, you’ll need to walk alllllll the way around. There’s no path that connects the Contemporary and the TTC!

That one break in the path is what’s stopping us from being able to walk all the way around Seven Seas Lagoon. For the record, the stroll is a delight and we’d recommend it to any guests staying at these resorts or even ending a day at Magic Kingdom.

But it would be a whole lot more delightful if we could walk all the way around. Sure, the monorail is an option here to finish up your tour but some folks enjoy the walk. On top of that, in a reopened Disney World the monorail stops running a little after Magic Kingdom closes. If you want to stroll after that time, your walk might end in a long trek back instead of a nice circular stroll.

It would be pretty cool if Disney gave the Contemporary a walking path to the Transportation and Ticket Center. For now though, we’ll just have to enjoy our almost perfect strolls around (most of) Seven Seas Lagoon.
