While most of Disney World has reopened since July of this year, there are several attractions, resorts, and dining locations that are still closed as of this writing.

Let’s take a look at some of the key locations you may want to know about if you are visiting Disney World in the next few months!
Rides & Attractions
By and large, almost every ride has reopened at Disney World. One notable exception is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover in Magic Kingdom, which has been experiencing a longer-than-anticipated downtime.

The attraction is currently scheduled to remain unavailable through late December, by which time we hope to be taking a leisurely stroll around Tomorrowland again! Speaking of relaxing rides, the Walt Disney World Railroad continues its lengthy downtime, due to the construction happening on the upcoming TRON LightCycle Power Run coaster.

There are a few additional attractions that are still unavailable. Enchanted Tales With Belle and Turtle Talk With Crush are two popular attractions for families with young kiddos that remain closed. Also, major entertainment offerings like Fantasmic!, Festival of the Lion King, and Finding Nemo the Musical remain closed.

Many of Disney World’s stage shows and its Equity performers experienced a large amount of layoffs earlier this year, calling into question exactly when we can expect these shows to reopen.
Dining
Let’s now review some of the major dining locations throughout Disney World that are still closed. Over in Magic Kingdom, several Quick Service locations are still closed, including Casey’s Corner and Columbia Harbour House. Fans of Columbia Harbour House, however, can look forward to the reopening of Tomorrowland Terrace on December 17th. This Quick Service spot in Tomorrowland will feature many of the menu items from Columbia Harbour House!

Over at EPCOT, several dining locations in World Showcase have yet to reopen, including Monsieur Paul and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. Over in the Norway Pavilion, Akershus is currently being utilized as a Relaxation Station where guests may temporarily remove their face masks.

At Animal Kingdom, you’ll have to wait a little longer to dine at Tusker House once again. The combination of buffet plus character meal makes this a difficult location to reopen.

The resorts also have a few popular dining locations have have remained closed throughout 2020. These include ‘Ohana at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Sebastian’s Bistro at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
Resorts
Finally, there are several resorts with extended closures. There are two remaining properties that have yet to reopen any of its guest rooms or amenities: both of Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts (Riverside and French Quarter) and all three of Disney’s All Star Resorts (Movies, Music, and Sports).

As of this writing, the only resort with a scheduled reopening date is Disney’s All Star Movies Resort, which will welcome guests back on February 9th, 2021.

In addition to those resorts, a number of Deluxe Resorts have only reopened their Disney Vacation Club Villas but have kept the remainder of their guest rooms closed. These include Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

The Polynesian is scheduled to reopen its guest rooms in the summer of 2021 with a newly re-themed Moana-inspired design. The main entryway and lobby will also be renovated.
