One thing is for certain about days at Disney World: They are all done differently by everybody! There are some things that are fairly common, some would even say “normal”.

Well, on the flip side, there are some very unconventional ways that a Disney day can be done. As Disney goers, we all have OUR way to do Disney World — but some of these are a little wild!
We reached out to our followers on Facebook to get some fun and unique answers: “Tell us the most unhinged hacks you have for Disney World.”. We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments — and some of these are funny!

First up, Meghan gave us a “tip” for riding the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. This one is pretty funny because, we don’t know if anyone is crazy enough to actually try this “tip”. “If you look right at the skull when it flashes on Pirates you can see purple dots everywhere you look for the next few minutes of the ride.”.

The skull is pretty blinding, but hey — if you want to see purple dots while being shot at by canons and splashes of water, all power to you!

Next up we have Audress, who said — “Suggested by a cast member when I was scratching my head over whether a t-shirt would fit me and there was no dressing room… buy it, go to the nearest restroom, try it on, then if needed, immediately return it.”.

We haven’t thought of this one before. It might be a little unhinged, but not that bad of an idea! It’s a great way to try on clothes and get the proper fit, without having to put it over-top of your clothes. Plus, once you leave Disney World, who knows when you can return that shirt that’s too big.

Gina chimed in with a wholesome Disney day take — “I’m local and I go at least once a week. I never have a plan. I just go where the wind takes me. There have been times I’ve never stepped foot on a ride, just enjoyed the sights and sounds. I stop to ask groups if they want me to take their photo if they are trying to get a selfie. Sometimes those are the best days”.

This one is not unhinged, we just wanted to add it! We’re sure a lot of Annual Passholders, and locals, have the same mindset as Gina. If you have the luxury of visiting the park whenever you want, it makes sense you’d have days to just take it all in. However, this is obviously absurd to the people who are going on a Disney vacay for the first time.

Yeah, Joseph parks all the way at Hollywood Studios for Magic Kingdom visits! We’re convinced this takes longer to get the MK than just parking there, but we aren’t judging. The Magic Kingdom parking lot can be an absolute PAIN sometimes, especially waiting for the monorail or boat at the TTC. Still, what a trek to start your Disney day!

Take a look at what Larry said — “Wear a hydration pack. Use a backpack with a space for a hydration reservoir. Fill the reservoir with ice before leaving for the park. Add some damp cooling towels inside the reservoir pocket. As you make your way through the park add cups of water to the ice whenever you have a chance. This will keep you cool, keep you hydrated, and keep ice on your lower back that is bound to be aching after averaging 25K steps a day for a week.”.

We’ve seen a few people who carry around the hydration packs. This one isn’t that crazy, it’s just a lot to carry around for the whole day. Plus, we think about the eyes that’ll be looking at us while we drink from a straw sticking out of our backpacks. Honestly Larry, this is a solid idea!

Gregory wanted to add to the chain, saying — “My wife is the actual expert at Disney. This is my best attempt at a hack, unhinged! When resort hopping use Disney transportation. We love the skyliner and stay at Caribbean beach resort. We skyline when we can, to the Riviera, get a coffee, then bus to location another resort! Then usually at the end of our fun and before Hollywood Studios closes ride the bus to Studios to Skyline back to Caribbean beach resort ! Get maximum Skyliner time! I mean it is why one stays at the hub resort, am I right?”.

This seems like a great way to try out Disney’s transportation all around the resort. Some Disney Resort hotels you’ll have a very hard time getting into if you aren’t staying there, or you don’t have a dining reservation. Disney transportation is the best way to get into those resorts. It looks like Gregory and his wife even have a schedule to make the most of the Skyliner!

Lastly we have Michelle, take a look at this — “Got laughed at on another group for this one: I can’t afford a five day stay at Disney hotels but I can afford a two day stay. So I would book the first two days at the Disney hotel and last three off property. Then when my seven day LL window opens buy my LL for the first two days. I usually buy Guardians, Tron and Magic Kingdom LL. Book my first two days up and get all the hard to do stuff done early. Then move to next resort and not worry the last three days about LL and those rides.”.

Michelle might be onto something here. This is a great way to save money on both Lightning Lane and Disney hotel stays. Get all the popular rides out of the way at the beginning of the trip with Lightning Lane, then use the rest of the trip to enjoy the stuff that doesn’t require LL! Who knows, you may even get lucky with shorter wait times for the popular stuff, and get to ride them again.

Well, those were just some of your thoughts on “unhinged” Disney hacks you use for your days at Disney World. We always want to hear even more from you, so follow us on our socials! In the meantime, stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!

regarding the refillable mugs in the parks needed comment- I have done this at Universal and frankly was so tired of drinking soda/pop all day that all I wanted was to fill it with water. Not to mention that my stomach ached after a while, this is especially true in the heat!! Disney is saving us from ourselves.
My hack in the morning for getting to EPCOT from P.O. Riverside is (if the sky liner is running (easy to check in app) I take the Studios bus, because the bus stops are close to the Sky Liner I take that to EPCOT so I can be at the International gateway and the countries. You can then get something from Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie to start your day or even ride Ratatouille first.(single rider lane is usually quite short). It is quicker to get to the Showcase. AS I went my way and my daughter via the EPCOT bus and I was sitting at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie for about 10 – 15 minutes waiting for her to get there via the EPCOT bus route. Also less walking to get to the showcase.
