Heads up if you’re on your way to Disney World this May: One of the resort’s most popular hotel dining options is set to temporarily CLOSE.
The Whispering Canyon Cafe, located at the Wilderness Lodge Resort, offers “hearty Western fare with all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets and shenanigans” for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. However, beginning this May, wannabe cowboys will need to park their horses somewhere else.
Disney confirmed that from May 12th through May 21st, 2025, Whispering Canyon Café will be closed for refurbishment. During the closure, those staying at the Wilderness Lodge will have various other dining options, including Territory Lounge, Roaring Fork, Geyser Point Bar & Grill, and Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White.
If you’re unfamiliar with this restaurant, we’ll warn you: do NOT be fooled by the name! While you might expect a quiet, peaceful restaurant atmosphere, it’s quite the opposite. The servers here are funny, boisterous, and full of surprises.
This spot is also known for its “All you care to enjoy” skillets, which basically means it’s a bottomless skillet of FOOD! We love the Slow-smoked Pulled Pork and the Oak-smoked Beef Brisket.
Judging by the overall selection of reviews left by our readers, this refurbishment is coming at the right time, as the numbers indicate that the restaurant is possibly in need of some TLC. Currently, the restaurant has a rating of approximately 7/10 based on 61 reviews, and is recommended by 75% of reviewers. These are not terrible numbers, but they are not in the upper echelon of Disney World restaurants, either.
