Getting dining reservations at Disney World hotels can be tricky sometimes, but one popular restaurant’s reservation problem has been GREATLY alleviated!
Since it opened in 2024, The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant has been a hot commodity, serving up “an array of sensational dishes and desserts — along with afternoon tea”. Getting reservations has been tough, but a new development may have fixed that problem!
During a recent visit to the restaurant, we were able to confirm that most reservations have been moved over to a third-party service.
According to our server and other sources, The Cake Bake Shop has moved reservations mostly over to OpenTable and you’ll find less availability through Disney World directly.
If you’re looking for future reservations, check OpenTable first because the bulk of their true availability will be there.
Most (but not all) Disney World restaurants recommend making reservations through My Disney Experience, so it’s important to keep this outlier in mind in case you plan on dining here during your next vacation.

Ok with it as long as the cancellation policy is the same. We had a reservation back in December that I had booked using my computer/the Disney website. Had to cancel because my husband’s cousin passed away, and the memorial services was in Melbourne, FL. Couldn’t make it back in time, so we had to call to cancel. Wasn’t showing up on the app on the phone. Took forever for the person to find our ressie to do so, but she finally did. Really hated to miss out, but family came first.
