Come with Us To Try the NEWEST Disney World Hotel Restaurant

If you’re staying at Disney World Resort during your next trip, you might want to take advantage of the incredible food offerings within your own resort. They’re great for check-in or check-out days and offer an often quieter experience compared to in the parks.

Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort

We love it when Disney opens new restaurants for us to try, especially at the resorts, and we like to figure out if they should be on your list or if you should skip them. We recently stopped by Lagoon Games, Lanes, and Eats at Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotel, and we are dropping you a FULL review.

Background

Lagoon took over Picabu, an eatery with grab-and-go and made-to-order foods. Picabu closed without a warning, and Lagoon opened at the beginning of April 2025.

Picabu

It’s a new “innovative game room experience” with food and arcade games. It even has a few bowling lanes!

Bowling lanes

Lagoon is a new concept that is special to the Swan and Dolphin, so we’re excited to check it out!

Atmosphere

Since this is an arcade, bowling alley, and dining location all rolled into one, don’t expect a quiet or relaxing atmosphere — but that’s part of the fun!

Lagoon

There are only a limited number of tables, and they’re placed in the middle of all the action. This is not like an arcade with a separate dining room, which would be great for families with kiddos who want to play while parents can keep an eye on them.

Tables

They offer classic American meals like hot dogs, onion rings, chicken sandwiches, and burgers. You’ll order at a kiosk before picking up your meal at the counter.

The kiosk

Now that we know about the restaurant, let’s talk about what we’re eating.

Food & Drinks

We started with the Tornado Potato for $10. We were so excited about this meal because we love the Twisted Taters at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando.

Tornado Potato

It’s hard to mess up a potato, and this one was no different. While it was mainly just potato and salt, it did have a decent crunch. We would have loved to see some additional seasonings or a fun dipping sauce on the side.

Potato!

The only dipping sauce available was Ken’s Ranch, and we would have liked to have maybe seen a cheese sauce or a homemade ranch.

Next, we tried the Onion Rings for $9, and we thought these were pretty standard. They were a bit heavy on the breading, but the onion was still noticeable — and wasn’t at all gummy, which can sometimes happen with onion rings. We liked the zesty sauce on the side — it reminded us of a horseradish or remoulade sauce.

Onion rings

After that, we tried the Steak Melt for $20, which we had high hopes for. The bread was a bit soggy, likely from being in the to-go container, and the mushrooms and onions weren’t quite cooked enough to be caramelized, but this would be a great option for folks looking for something to eat while their kiddos are enjoying the arcade.

Steak Melt

In the end, we had a 7 Layer Chocolate Cake for $15. We really enjoyed it! It was moist and soft and had a delicious chocolate ganache.

7 Layer Cake

It was fudgy and had the perfect amount of chocolate. It wasn’t the best chocolate cake we’ve ever had, but out of all the items we tried, this would be the one we would get again and again.

Magic or Tragic?

You should head to Lagoon if…

  • You’re looking for a place with entertainment AND food for your kids (or yourself) at your Disney World hotel
  • You want something quick and convenient to grab

You should skip Lagoon if…

  • You want to dine in a traditional, sit-down restaurant setting
  • You’re looking for a relaxing meal
  • You don’t like American-style bar food
The spread

Overall, Lagoon is a great addition to the Swan and Dolphin as it adds a bit of fun recreation into the mix without sacrificing a dining location. While we wouldn’t put it at the top of our must-stop spots at Disney World, we do think it’s the perfect option for folks staying at this hotel or are looking for that arcade dining experience!
