Some experts are warning that new economic changes made by the White House could impact everything from groceries to travel.

The recent tariffs put into place by the administration could affect Canadian travel to Disney World, as well as Disney World as a whole, including everything from the prices of food to merchandise. Now, Disney CEO Bob Iger has commented on the tariffs.
According to Oliver Darcy’s Status newsletter, Iger recently attended a daily editorial meeting with ABC News staff where he commented on the Trump Administration’s executive order, putting a series of tariffs on international trade for nearly 200 countries and U.S. trade partners.

During the meeting, which discussed ABC Newsroom’s coverage of the tariffs, Iger remarked that relocating manufacturing from overseas locations to the U.S. “speedily” was impossible. He also said he believed most people “don’t really understand how tariffs work.”
Iger also expressed concern for Disney Cruise Line, mainly because its two new ships require steel for their construction. He even mentioned that the company might have to cut back on spending if the company’s costs get too high.

The Walt Disney Company has also come under fire by the Trump administration, resulting in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announcing an investigation into the company for its diversity, inclusion, and equity policies. That comes after Disney investors rejected an anti-DEI deal.
The Walt Disney Company has not released public statements about the tariffs, but it seems like the company may be privately concerned with how tariffs will affect businesses in the U.S. and around the world.

Tariffs? Like all cruise ships registered in the Bahamas or Panama. To avoid paying high taxes? But yet cruisers pay taxes and port charges.
Based on these comments, I think he is right about most people not understanding how tariffs work…
Let me give you a simple example of tariffs and how they will have a real effect on the price of things.
A Vietnamese garment maker making your Disney t-shirt for $35 makes $300 a month. To produce that t-shirt in America, an American garment worker making that same t-shirt makes $2,700 a month, that’s 9 times more expensive, which would make your Disney t-shirt $250. Who is going to be able to pay that for a t-shirt?
Maybe we need an executive order cutting salaries in half to make things affordable.
How many times has Disney raised prices on just food alone in the last couple of years?
Now they can blame the tariffs instead of ‘brainstorming’ another reason that no one believes.
Wow, the comments here show that a good bunch of you have no idea how tariffs work.
Specific tariffs can be a good thing. Blanket tariffs on everything from everywhere is just stupid.
We all will suffer from it, not just Disney.
He is supposed to entertain and NOT bankrupt Disney.
Tariffs are not his concern unless he plans on importing products from foreign countries.
Bob’s not a smart man, look what he and his crew have done to disney….MDGA
I don’t think Bob understands tariffs either or the reasons for them. I presume he would rather have other countries stop American products from getting in but he doesn’t care about American workers
They’re primarily reciprocal, meaning just reflecting the amount each nation has been gouging the US for years. Iger’s down in nearly every department at Disney, he’ll try blaming 1994 results on tariffs, just watch.
So he is going to blame tariffs for his failures/cut backs. Is he ever going to get back to family entertainment and not try to fix things that were not broken. Make movies/parks fun again.
Leftist businesses will initially use the tariffs as an excuse for why they must raise prices. In their minds, this will punish Trump voters and guarantee that Democrats will win all future elections. It will take them a while to catch up to how many steps ahead of them that Trump and his team are.
#StopTariffs
His concern is justified.
Not really justified. Give it time and the US will be bringing in the money that was basically stolen all these yeara.
Hey Bob. Why don’t you get back to destroying Disney. Leave the running of this country to people who know how to be successful.
Trump will at least consider a pause on tariffs . HIS RICH FŔIENDS HAVE ALREADY BOUGHT STOCKS ON THE DIP.
THE MARKET WILL TURN AND THEY WILL MAKE A BUNCH OF MONEY!
Raw steel is not affected by the recent reciprocal tariffs. But Disney has built its most recent ships in Germany, so that will likely be the bigger issue; not steel.
So is Iger ignorant or purposefully misstating the issue for political reasons?
Just wait trump knows what he’s doing. You are only worried about your paycheck.
