Disney Just Announced the NEW Souvenir Everyone Is Going to Be Buying in May

The party is beginning soon as Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary approaches!

Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary kicks off on May 16th, and Disney has so many fun plans in store for the milestone.  The return of a fan-favorite parade, new shows, and more! Now, Disney has shared some more treats and surprises in store for the celebration!

Mickey Mouse needs your help unlocking the magic at the park for its celebration. Starting May 16th, you can grab the Key to Disneyland! With this key you will embark on a journey to seek surprises in each land at the Disneyland Park. Unlock hidden magic within each land, and unlock a commemorative pin at the journey’s end.

You will have to purchase your Key to Disneyland, which will be available at select shops at the Disneyland Park or World of Disney (located at Downtown Disney). Once you have your key, explore Disneyland and look for the 70th Celebration lock stations. These lock stations will be located in each land! Once you insert your Key into each lock, it’ll reveal an icon, light effect and music for that land on your key.

Once you have finished your journey, you must travel to the Mickey Topiary Finale lock station, which will be located at the entrance of the park. At this final lock station, your key will unlock even more surprises — including 1 of 9 exclusive trading pins!

• Across from Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
• Wilderness Expeditions and Delivery Service Wagon (near the entrance to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge) in Frontierland
• Across from Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin in Mickey’s Toontown
• Fantasy Faire in Fantasyland
• Near the exit of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters in Tomorrowland

That’s not the only surprise that Disney has for us. We’ve also gotten a sneak peek at some of Disneyland’s 70th merch coming. Disneyland is going BIG for the celebration, launching four brand-new collections! The merch line-up looks amazing, and it wouldn’t be an understatement to say we NEED these.

The first collection we’ll look at is the Celebration Collection, featuring art of beloved characters, a splash of colors, and classic Disneyland attraction designs. The collection will offer everything from clothing to accessories. Everyone is going to want to get in this! What’s a Disney day without seeing bubbles flying all over the place? There will be all-new bubble wands with interchangeable character heads (each one with different sound effects and lights). Of course, the collection will also feature new Loungefly and Dooney & Bourke items!

What is Disneyland merchandise without the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle? Check out the Castle Collection, featuring clothing, accessories, and jewelry. This merchandise collection will truly be fit for royalty!

Open up that nostalgic and classic Disney look with the Vault Collection! This merchandise celebrates and embraces old Disneyland with its design. Disney stated the collection will have various releases happening throughout the celebration, so make sure you’re always on the lookout for new drops!

Everyone loves that nostalgic feeling, and we love the Walt Disney Nostalgia Collection. This collection is dedicated to the one who welcomed us all to his happy place. This collection will contain merchandise centred around Walt himself and his original park’s rich history! Supposedly, there will be collectibles similar to what could’ve been found on Walt’s desk. Yep, we’re getting our hands on that as soon as possible!

Other exclusive 70th Anniversary merchandise will include Bulova and Pandora jewelry, as well as a 70th Medallion Collection. There are so many amazing things coming for the celebration, and we know there is more to come! This is just a glimpse of the merch, so we’re excited to see what else is on the way.
