Disney Needs New Rules for Pop Century Hotel

Disney World, we are begging for these rules to be a reality at Disney’s Pop Century.

Pop Century

You’ve got plenty of hotel options to choose from when it comes to your Disney World trip — from Deluxe to Moderate to Value! Pop Century Resort, one of Disney’s Value resorts, is a fun, nostalgia-inspired hotel with the huge perk of being on the Disney Skyliner route. However, we are signing a petition (in our minds) for Disney to make these rules a reality at this resort!

1. Guests May Use Other Hotel Pools

Alright, so this first rule is really about Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, more specifically the Big Blue Pool. If you didn’t know, Pop Century and Art of Animation are walking distance to one another which is how they share the Skyliner station. Because they are so close, we would love it if you were staying at one hotel, you could also access the other pools!

Big Blue Pool

The Big Blue pool has a large space for guests to relax and has a kids’ area to play in as well. You can also find the Drop Off pool bar here, which has some fun drinks. This also would mean that guests staying at Art of Animation would be able to access Pop Century’s pools so it could be a win-win.

2. Guests Can Use Disney Umbrellas

While we wish every day at Disney World could be sunny, that’s just not how Florida does things. It rains, often in the summer time and those storms can pop up out of nowhere! This can be a big bummer if you are staying at Pop Century.

There are several buildings at this hotel and you have to walk outside a good distance to get to your room from the lobby, bus, or Skyliner. We think one thing that could make it better is Disney had umbrellas in the lobby area that you could borrow when it was raining. Of course, you would have to return them and that would mean relying on the honor system — so while it probably won’t happen, we can wish for it!

3. All Guests Get a Mini Cheesecake Upon Check In

Finally, one of our favorite desserts found here is the Tie Dye Cheesecake. This colorful, groovy cheesecake brings a psychedelic swirl of flavors with each layer. On the bottom, you’ve got classic red velvet cake, and on top, a cheesecake blend that’s creamy and surprisingly light!

We think guests should receive a mini version of this dessert when they arrive at the hotel — yes, it’s that great! It would also allow guests to have a taste of it and fall in love with it like we are, which would mean they would likely purchase more.

  1. I was just down at Pop Century Resort a few weeks ago. This place was still amazing after not being there for 10 years. This is still an amazing place. The place was still so clean and well maintained. The people working there was still helpful and very friendly. I love this place!

  2. The umbrella lending system isn’t implausible. My condo building has a system like this where it’s linked to a credit card if you don’t return it, but otherwise it’s free.

I’m also totally here for the mini cheesecakes. Let’s convince them!

  3. I wish that Disney were more responsive to people who want to keep fit when they are there. There are absolutely no fitness centers, no nice roads to run and/or cycle on and you can not into any of the complexs. Four lane highways are the norm and there are no sidewalks or bike lanes. The small roads in the complex are not for cycling use, you can only use them to go directly to your buildings. As far as working out, Disney is tone deaf.

  4. What you really should and will get, is nothing. Zero, nada, because Disney doesn’t care about any of its customers. And that’s why lifers like me have left, probably for universal or some other Park cuz I still have to go on a vacation
