REVIEW: Luna Bar at Universal’s Terra Luna Resort

Universal’s newest hotel is ready for LIFTOFF, and we got to check out its premium lobby bar!

Universal’s Terra Luna Resort – – the second of three new hotels that the company is opening adjacent to the upcoming Epic Universe theme park – – has joined sister hotel the Stella Nova Resort, and we were on scene to check out the hotel’s features.

Terra Luna, which is “inspired by the thrill of exploring the unknown and pushing the limits of discovery” features 750 guest rooms, exclusive theme park benefits, complimentary transportation throughout the Universal Resort, a pool, a firepit, a game room, and more, an s several restaurant and lounge options, including our focus today, the Luna Bar.

According to Universal, Luna Bar combines the ideas of “Earth and Light” and features “craft cocktails curated with unique ingredients. All of the classics are here as well, along with beer and wine.”

So, what did we think of it?

We decided to take a look at the menu of themed cocktails, including a signature drink called Luna.

We ordered the Luna, which is Weber Ranch 1902 vodka shaken with Braulio. Patron XO Cafe, cold-brewed espresso and simple syrup, dusted with bittersweet chocolate and a mist of spearmint oil for $18. It’s like an elevated version of an espresso martini.

It’s got a very coffee flavor with a hint of sweetness, and it’s pretty much everything you’d love about an espresso martini, but elevated. It’s also a lot of fun. We will warn you that the mint might seem weird but it plays up the bitterness of the chocolate and coffee.

If you happen to be staying at Universal Terra Luna Resort and you’re looking for a drink that really keeps you in the theme of the hotel, the Luna is a good option, as long as you like coffee flavors and espresso martinis. We’d say a stop at the bar is a must if you find yourself at the hotel.
