The EPCOT Transformation may be over, but there are new things still in the works for EPCOT.
The EPCOT Transformation finished this past summer when CommuniCore Hall and Plaza opened. The transformation included many projects, such as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, the new Club Cool, Connections Eatery, the Creations Shop, and so much more. However, just as we thought construction was complete at EPCOT, Test Track closed to make way for Test Track 3.0, which is set to open in 2025. Another new offering is set to open in EPCOT next year, and we finally have more details that fans are either going to LOVE…or hate.
At D23 it was announced that EPCOT would be getting a new Spaceship Earth Lounge. Not too many details were given, but it was revealed that the lounge would open in 2025.
This lounge will be inspired by the “stories, shapes, and enduring legacy” of Spaceship Earth. There will be lots of rich textures and warm metallic tones for a “mysterious and elegant intimacy.”
Well, now Disney finally revealed more details about this new lounge, which we now know will be called GEO-82! Disney revealed that the new lounge will feature “iconic shapes and intricate structures inspired by the park’s instantly-recognizable icon” in rich textures and warm, metallic tones.
However, Disney also revealed that this lounge will require Advance Dining Reservations, but most notably, it will only be open to guests 21+. We know you’ll be able to order innovative cocktails and “globally influenced” small plates, and we’re looking forward to seeing a menu and reading what exactly those will entail.
