Alright Marvel fans, it’s time for us to assemble for a little bit of investigating!
We all know it’s a BIG year for Marvel. With the upcoming films heading into theaters soon, as well as a new series available to stream, there is just so much to look forward to. But one thing we can’t wait to see is when a certain shield-wielding superhero is heading to Disney+. So, it’s time to switch out our capes for detective hats and figure out when Captain America: Brave New World will be heading to Disney+!
Ok, so even though I did mention detective hats, we’ll also be doing a little bit of math to crack the code as well. Starting with how long it has taken past Marvel movies to make it to Disney+.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (how awesome was this film?) blasted into theaters in May 2023. However, it wasn’t available on Disney+ until August, a whole three months later.
Based on that timeline, Captain America: Brave New World would likely take about three months to land on Disney+, pointing to a May 2025 release. Most Marvel films follow this pattern, making May the most probable window…
But wait — there’s a twist!
In the case of Deadpool and Wolverine, which hit theaters in July 2024, the film wasn’t available to stream on Disney+ until November, a whole FOUR months later! If Captain America: Brave New World follows that pattern, then we can expect it on the streaming service in June.
So, which one is it? Well, although we can’t be sure since Disney hasn’t made any announcements yet, we guess that Captain America: Brave New World will most likely follow the three-month rule.
Though the film saw quite a success on the box office opening weekend, its numbers have dwindled in its second week, as reported by Variety. With a 68% drop reported, a decline like this could move the film to streaming sooner rather than later. That is why we’re guessing it’ll be available to stream in May.
While history and our investigating skills can give us a good idea of what to expect, we can’t confirm anything — only Disney can make that official call. So, for now, we’ll just have to wait and see when they decide to bring Captain America to Disney+. Stay tuned to us here on AllEars for more updates!
