Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth!

It can feel so magical to step into the original Disney theme park. We won’t lie; many of our team members even favor Disneyland over Disney World. While Disneyland is loved by many, it does not mean that is immune to imperfections, and fans are making it clear to use by sharing their biggest Disneyland red flags for 2025.
Let’s get into it!
Construction and Closures
While Disney World is experiencing many closures and ongoing construction, Disneyland is also about to see significant changes. At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, it was announced that Avengers Campus would be getting two new rides, a Coco ride would be coming to Disney California Adventure, a new show would be debuting on Main Street, and the world of Avatar would be making its way to the West Coast.

Phew! That is A LOT of new additions. Unfortunately, in order for these new offerings to come to life, you can expect to see construction walls and closures hitting the two parks. In fact, the Red Car Trolley has officially closed since the barn used to park the cars will be used for a new ride in Avengers Campus.

Over in Disneyland, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln has been closed as Disney prepared to welcome the very first Walt Disney animatronic into the park. The new show is called Walt Disney—A Magical Life. Although Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is closed now, both shows will rotate so visitors can enjoy them.

As a side note, Disneyland’s construction is not to be confused with the ongoing construction and closures at Disney World. One of our team members visited the park last week and overheard people worrying that Tom Sawyer Island at Disneyland is closing. This is not the case as Tom Sawyer Island at Disney World is set to close. As long as Fantasmic! is around at Disneyland, we don’t foresee the Rivers of America or Tom Sawyer Island going away anytime soon.

70th Anniversary Crowds
Disneyland is gearing up to celebrate a milestone anniversary as the park turns 70 years old on July 17th. There will be plenty of celebrations, including new character outfits and exclusive merchandise. Plus, Paint the Night is set to return! While all of this is exciting, we anticipate that there will be more crowds as people want to visit the park for the anniversary.

Pixar Fest Has Not Been Confirmed to Return
Last year, Disneyland debuted a brand new festival called Pixar Fest. This festival included specialty food offerings, food booths, character meet and greets, and even a new parade! We don’t know for sure, but we have a feeling that this festival will not be making its return this year due to Disneyland’s 70th anniversary.

Magic Happens Has Not Been Confirmed to Return
Magic Happens debuted at Disneyland right before the parks closed due to the pandemic. The good news is that it eventually returned in 2023! Sadly, the parade ended in August of 2024 as Disneyland got ready for the holiday season. Now, it has been months since the holidays ended, and there has been no word about the parade returning.

As we mentioned before, Paint the Night will be returning to the park. However, since it is a nighttime parade, we wish Magic Happens could perform during the day and Paint the Night in the evening, even if it meant Magic Happens had to move to DCA.

We will just have to wait and see how 2025 plays out at Disneyland. To stay up to date on all the latest Disney and theme park news, continue to follow along with us here at AllEars!
