There are so many hidden and tucked-away pathways throughout Disney World’s theme parks, resorts, and even water parks.

It can be so fun to discover one of these pathways, especially when it is a shortcut to help you get to your destination. Sometimes, these pathways may not always be a shortcut but instead more of a scenic route. Our team has used almost every shortcut in the book, but there is one in Magic Kingdom that is so tucked away that many people miss it!
Before TRON Lightcycle / Run opened in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, if you wanted to get to Storybook Circus, you would have to walk towards the Tomorrowland Speedway and past the Mad Tea Party.

Storybook Circus opened in 2012 as part of the new Fantasyland expansion, and TRON Lightcycle / Run opened in 2023, which means this much-needed shortcut between the two lands is less than two years old!

Many people miss out on this pathway since they are walking up toward TRON Lightcycle / Run instead of to the left where this hidden path is.

The pathway is marked with a sign that simply says “Storybook Circus,” with arrows pointing in the direction of the pathway. The path goes right under the actual ride where the walkway goes up to the entrance. Part of this pathway is actually covered, and we have ducked under it from time to time to get our ponchos out when it starts to rain.

You can continue on down the path past TRON Lightcycle / Run, where you will actually pass right by the new tunnel that the train now goes through. When you arrive in Storybook Circus, the Fantasyland Train Station will be to your right, and the Barnstormer will be to your left.

You can also take this shortcut the opposite way from Storybook Cirus to Tomorrowland. The pathway, although still tucked away, is marked with a Tomorrowland sign.

We appreciate that as Disney makes new additions to the park, they also add pathways like this one. It seems that a new shortcut will be part of the Magic Kingdom when the Cars expansion is completed.

From the concept art, there is a new pathway that will connect Liberty Square right to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This shortcut could be a game changer and save you so much time during your park day. While we know concept art does not always reflect the final product, we hope that Disney will build this much-needed shortcut.

I have been to MK numerous times since Tron opened and have utilized this “shortcut”. While obviously not Main St. level crowds I have passed plenty of people using it.
