NEWS: Permit Filed for First Phase of DinoLand, U.S.A. Closures at Disney World

Disney has officially filed a notice of commencement for TriceraTop Spin and Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama Fossil Fun Games in DinoLand, U.S.A.

TriceraTop Spin is set to close this month.

This area of DinoLand will officially close on January 13th as part of the first phase of the DinoLand closures, as it is set to be re-themed into a Tropical Americas-themed land called Pueblo Esperanza.

This is not the first permit that Disney has filed for DinoLand, U.S.A., as permits have been rolling in over the last few months ahead of the land’s first closures. Walt Disney Imagineering filed this new Notice of Commencement on December 13th, 2024, one month ahead of the first phase closure.

While there is only a week left to enjoy this part of the park, we may not see demolition immediately as the permit is good until December 30th, 2025.

Disney confirmed that 2025 will be the last year that you will be able to ride DINOSAUR as it will be re-themed into an Indiana Jones attraction for this brand-new land. The second phase closure is yet to be announced.

While it is sad to see an original part of Animal Kingdom start to close and change, it is exciting to look forward to the future of this area of the park as it will bring forth three new attractions, including an Encanto ride.
