Uh Oh. A Disney World Ride That’s Permanently Closing Soon Is STRUGGLING Right Now

Well, Christmas has come and gone in Disney World (although the decorations will stay up WAY through January), and we survived.

Sure, we saw a lot of people in the parks yesterday, and that’s pretty much what we expected. That translated into some pretty long ride lines, too (we’re talking HOURS). However, we did not expect to see a ride (which is permanently closing soon) temporarily closed several times during the day. ​

As we’ve previously reported, Muppet*Vision 3D will be permanently closing soon, along with all of Muppets Courtyard, to make way for a new Monsters, Inc. land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, the Muppets will be moving over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster for a re-theme of that ride. If you tried to visit Muppet*Vision 3D yesterday, December 25th, though, you might have been out of luck. The ride was closed midday for several hours and then closed again right before park close.

So what can you do if that happens? Well, there isn’t really anything that’s like Muppet*Vision 3D in all of Disney World, so you basically just need to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app to see when it reopens. Once it closes for good, though, we’ll just have to go without the Muppets until the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with the Muppets opens — and we don’t have an opening timeline for that yet.
