3 New Rules for Disney’s Hollywood Studios

There is nothing quite like the ambiance of walking down Hollywood Boulevard as you begin your day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

You have a whole day of fun ahead of you and the excitement is building as you head towards your first ride of the day. However, there have been some changes in Disney’s Hollywood Studios that we want you to know about!

These changes might have an impact on your Hollywood Studios day, especially if you are planning on rope dropping. So, let’s get into these new rules for Disney’s Hollywood Studios!  First off, there are some new rules when it comes to rope dropping Hollywood Studios.

Hollywood Studios

Up until recently, if you were rope dropping Hollywood Studios and you were not a Disney World hotel guest, you would be held at the touchpoints until the park opened. Then you would scan through once the park opened, but not before. Disney World hotel guests that were there for Early Theme Park Entry would have a separate entrance to get into Hollywood Studios.

Now, things have changed a bit, and you will now be allowed to tap in before the park officially opens, but you won’t be able to ride attractions until the park opens. There will be separate lines formed for the attraction and if you are not a Disney World hotel guest, you will be in a different line that won’t be let into the attraction until the park opens.

Next up, when you are rope dropping Hollywood Studios, you will also notice that some pathways have been closed off. If you are headed to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you will be directed to walk in front of the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration and won’t be able to use Commissary Lane to get to Galaxy’s Edge. While you can still use this pathway during the day, you will need to walk by Echo Lake and Star Tours in the morning.

Finally, there has also been a Single Rider Line added to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The attraction was testing the line for a bit, and now it seems like it is here to stay. Your party will be split up if you choose this line, but it could help you ride this attraction with a shorter wait time.

Also, while not exactly a rule, if you are a fan of Muppet*Vision 3D or Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, you will want to make sure you make a stop by them on your next Hollywood Studios trip. Muppet*Vision 3D will be closing  to make way for the Monsters, Inc. Land and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be rethemed to The Muppets. Disney hasn’t announced a closing date yet, but we will keep you updated about any announcements!
