Hurricane season is nearing the end, but we’re not out of it yet.

Hurricane season runs throughout November, so it is still possible for Florida and the rest of the Southern and Eastern coasts to see some tropical weather activity. Most recently, Hurricane Milton ripped through Florida, including Orlando, forcing theme parks in the area to close. Now, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is watching three more disturbances in the tropics.
Three areas of interest are being watched by the NHC and major news sources. One of these areas has recently turned into Subtropical Storm Patty, which is moving away from the U.S. coast. However, two other areas in the Caribbean and Greater Antilles are being closely monitored.

According to the NHC, the large area of disorganized showers in the Greater Antilles has a low chance of formation in the next 48 and 72 hours and may be absorbed by the area over the Caribbean Sea. It is that large low pressure area over the Caribbean Sea that poses a greater chance for development at a 60% chance in the next 48 hours and an 80% chance in the next 7 days. A tropical depression is likely to form within the next few days while the system moves north and northwestward.
Overnight tropical weather outlook keeps development chances high in the Caribbean Sea, and medium in the north Atlantic.
In reality, we could have a few named systems over the next few days.

As of now, rain and winds are expected for the areas around these systems. We’ll be keeping a watch out for how they may affect the U.S., Florida, and Disney World over the next few days. In any case, it’s good to be prepared when you’re visiting the Orlando theme parks. Rain is generally hard to avoid, so we suggest packing rain gear such as ponchos, umbrellas, and shoe covers.
