Not all Disney souvenirs are created equal.
Souvenirs have been a major part of the Disney theme park experience since the very beginning. Over the years, these offerings have run the gamut from toys and trinkets to high-end collectibles and fashion pieces… and of course thousands of varieties of Mickey Ears. However, there are some Disney souvenirs that even the biggest fans must admit seem… superfluous at best.
One Disney World souvenir that we find inexplicable is the “Lollipop Savers” that the resort has been selling in recent years. These plastic, Mickey-shaped shells cost upwards of $10, and are made to “hold” a partially eaten lollipop throughout your theme park day. And all we have to say is…why?
We completely understand that some of the lollipops sold at Disney World are so large and sugary that it makes sense to split eating them. However, there’s no need to dedicate money from your Disney souvenir budget to buying one of these “savers.”
Instead, go with one of the litany of options that you can pick up before your trip, most of which have multiple uses for a fraction of the price. For example, you can simply bring some ziplock or silicone bags. These will keep unfinished lollipops ready to snack on later, but can also be used to house other items, protect phones while on water rides, and etc.
