DATE ANNOUNCED for First Phase of Permanent DinoLand CLOSURES at Disney World

There are some major changes coming to Animal Kingdom!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

DinoLand, U.S.A. is getting the axe and being transformed into a Tropical Americas-themed land with new attractions, dining, and special offerings. We can’t wait to check it out, but of course, we’re sad to see DinoLand go. So how long do we have before Disney closes down the old to usher in the new?

Back at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, it was announced that DinoLand construction would begin in the fall of 2024 and come in stages. Now, Disney has officially announced the closing date of the first section of the land!

Dinoland U.S.A.

According to the Disney World website, TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will all close permanently on January 13th, 2025. Your last day to experience these offerings will be January 12th, 2025.

It seems that the first round of closures is limited to the Dino-Rama section of the land. At this time, DINOSAUR, The Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites will all remain open. There is no closing date yet listed for these offerings.

DinoLand is set to be replaced with a new fictional village called Pueblo Esperanza. The land will be home to three new attractions, including a carousel, an Encanto ride, and an Indiana Jones ride. We’ll also be getting new dining and shopping offerings.
