BREAKING: Hurricane Milton Development Prompts Disney To Confirm NEW Theme Park Closures

As Hurricane Milton begins to make its way to the West Coast of Florida, Floridians are preparing for what could be a Category 4 storm by the time it makes landfall. A Hurricane Warning is already in effect for the Disney World area.

If you happen to be in Disney World during this time, we’ve already given you our best tips about how to ride out a hurricane in Disney World. More than likely, you’ll be spending a lot of time in your hotel room, as Disney has confirmed new theme park closures.

Disney recently announced that the theme parks and Disney Springs would close early today, October 9th. Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close at 1PM, and Magic KingdomEPCOT, and Disney Springs will close at 2PM. Disney also announced that the theme parks would likely remain closed tomorrow, October 10th, but Disney Springs could have a limited opening tomorrow afternoon.

However, now, Disney has confirmed that the theme parks and Disney Springs will remain closed tomorrow. If you have partially used multi-day tickets, ticket expiration dates will be changed to October 11th, 2024. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for tomorrow has also been canceled. If you have tickets for that event, you will be refunded.

The storm has made its way to Florida, and a tornado warning was issued for Osceola County, which includes parts of Disney World. The warning was issued on October 9th, and is expected to last until 3 PM.

If you are visiting Disney World this week, you’ll need to pay attention to Cast Members’ instructions during this time — they are trained to make sure you stay safe in the event of bad weather.
