NEWS: Anne Hathaway Confirms Her Return in a THIRD ‘Princess Diaries’ Movie With Disney

Who’s ready for some amazing movie news?

Some of the most iconic films from our childhoods (or for some of us, they were films that our kids really loved) were the Princess Diaries and Princess Diaries 2 films from 2001 and 2004, respectively. We’ve been wondering if we’d get a third film in the franchise for years, and there hasn’t been any news in a while. But now we have AMAZING news — it’s been confirmed that a third film is on the way!

According to CNN, Princess Diaries 3 is finally happening! There had been some rumors back in 2022, and Julie Andrews shared her thoughts about returning to the franchise back then, but it’s been quiet since. Until…now!

Anne Hathaway herself confirmed on social media that Princess Diaries 3 is happening. She held up one finger, and then a clip from the first film played where she says, “A Princess?! Shut up!” Then, she held up a second finger, and a clip of her saying “Shut up!” in the second film played. Finally, she held up three fingers and said “Shut up!” herself, and she shared a screenshot of the official announcement of the film.

It was recently announced that a director has been attached to the new film! Adele Lim, who also recently directed Joyride, will direct it. At this time, no additional details have been announced about the upcoming film, but we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled!
