Don’t Book Your 2025 Disney World Trip Without Reading This First

Are you ready for your 2025 Disney World trip? It’s almost here!

Magic Kingdom

We can just about count the number of sleeps left until 2025 will be here, so you’ve really got to jump on all those preparations like what you’ll be packing, what you’ll be chowing down on, and where you’re going to rest your head! But most importantly, even before you do any of that, we’ve got to go over some critical Disney World warnings for you to watch out for in 2025! Let’s go over them!

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

First up, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be undergoing an extensive room refurbishment from September 2024 to September 2025. (Can you believe it? A whole year of construction!)

During that timeframe, you’ll still be able to book the resort, but times and rooms could be limited. Also, guests staying at Bay Lake Tower will hear and see construction throughout the day, and certain parts of the resort may not be open meaning you might have to take detours.

Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

Next, sticking with accommodations, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will also be undergoing room refurbishment from January 2025 to May 2025. At the moment, we’re not sure how extensive the work will be, but we’ll keep you posted.

Additionally, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool, the pools shared by both Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts, will undergo routine maintenance from January 2025 to June 2025. During the daytime, guests staying at this resort can expect to hear construction noises.

During the closure, you will still be able to swim at the Tidal, Admiral, and Dunes Cove leisure pools.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

While we’re on the topic of pools, the Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will undergo routine maintenance from January 2025 to June 2025

While the refurbishment is happening, you will still be able to use the Duck Pond Pool.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

While we know that the Island Village Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows will open in December 2024, construction around the resort will continue long after this new addition opens.

Disney shared that the construction will continue from now until 2026, which means that if you’re going to be staying at the Polynesian Village Resort, you can expect to hear construction noise during the daytime.

Also, those pristine views we’re used to may also be blocked as a consequence of the construction.

Water Park Access with Hotel Reservations

Disney World announced that guests staying at Disney hotels in 2025 get FREE admission to one of the water parks, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, on their check-in day included in their stay.

Typhoon Lagoon

This perk is for anyone with a check-in date from January 1st to December 31st, 2025. The perk is also subject to availability, and all visitors must be listed on the hotel reservation. This perk is also available for Disney Vacation Club stays.

DINOSAUR

In case you didn’t know, DinoLand, U.S.A. is going to be re-themed into the new Tropical Americas Land and work will begin Fall 2024. This means that the clock on when we will be able to ride DINOSAUR for the last time is rapidly running out.

DINOSAUR

DINOSAUR will likely be re-themed into a new Indiana Jones-inspired ride that has a brand-new storyline (different from the one at Disneyland Park) and will take visitors inside a Mayan temple.

We know the construction on the area will happen in phases, but at the moment we don’t have confirmation on when DINOSAUR will permanently close. We’ll keep you posted!

It’s Tough To Be a Bug

As part of all the work being done at Animal Kingdom, “It’s Tough To Be a Bug” will be permanently closing in 2025.

The new show is called Zootopia: “Better Zoogether“ and will debut in winter 2025!

Disney hasn’t shared when “It’s Tough To Be a Bug” show will close, but we imagine that if the new show is supposed to start in Winter 2025, that would mean Disney would need several months for the construction, which would seem to indicate that this current show might be closing by or before Spring 2025. We’ll let you know the moment we hear more.

Test Track

Test Track was closed for refurbishment back on June 17th, 2024 and now, we know that the “reimagined” Test Track will be opening in 2025.

Construction continues at Test Track

About the re-imaging, Disney shared that the ride will celebrate “today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future.” You’ll experience six distinct exhibits to celebrate both the vehicles and the people behind the vehicles as you move through the new queue.

We know the ride is set to open in 2025. We’re just waiting for Disney to confirm the exact opening date.

Tom Sawyer’s Island and Rivers of America

If you didn’t know, Tom Sawyer’s Island and Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom is going to be completely reimagined. That means, soon, we’re going to have to say goodby to these Magic Kingdom OG attractions.

Disney announced that this section of Frontierland will be home to brand-new ‘Cars’ attractions!

This area will feature two new attractions. One will be a “thrilling rally race through the mountains” and the other attraction will be a more family friendly ride so that even the youngest family members can enjoy it.

At the moment, we know that construction will begin in 2025, but we have no indication when the land will be open.

‘Monsters, Inc.’ Land

Disney also announced a new ‘Monsters, Inc.’-themed area coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The new land will feature a brand new roller coaster and more.

A new land themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Monsters, Inc.” is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Taking place after the events of the film, Monstropolis need humans’ laughter to power the city. Guests can even ride on a door like Mike and Sully in the iconic scene from the film with Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster.

Disney shared that work on the project is scheduled to begin in 2025, so be ready to see some walls up around Hollywood Studios. We don’t know where the new land will be going specifically in the park or when it will be opening, but we’ll let you know as soon as we learn more info.
