Whatever You Do, DO NOT Rope Drop This EPCOT Ride

You’ve probably done a lot of research when planning your Disney World trip. Maybe you’ve even already picked out your hotel and booked your trip, and you’re now thinking about your best strategy for your park days.

Of course, you’ve been told that rope dropping Disney World’s most popular rides is the best way to get shorter lines without having to pay for Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Lightning Lane Single Pass, but we’re going to tell you the opposite: skip the popular rides at rope drop because EVERYONE is running to them at rope drop because they’ve been told the same thing.

We’re going to show you an example of this. When looking at wait times for EPCOT for yesterday at rope drop/park opening, the HIGHEST wait time was for EPCOT’s most popular ride, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. The wait time at rope drop was 115 minutes. By comparison, all other wait times in EPCOT were at just 5-10 minutes, with Frozen Ever After being the exception with a 45-minute wait time.

So it seems like everyone is running straight to the France Pavilion to get in line for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. So we’re telling you NOT to do that. Instead, wait it out. The wait times later in the day for this ride were generally lower: the wait time even got down to 25 minutes at 6PM! 

Of course, your other option is to purchase Lighting Lane Multi Pass and get a spot for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure to bypass the long standby lines. Ultimately, it’s up to you. But if the ride isn’t a priority, you could just wait it out until the lines get shorter later in the day.
