WARNING: Food Prices Are About to INCREASE in Disney World

Are you excited about your getaway to Disney World this fall?!

Fall in Magic Kingdom

If you’re heading to Disney World this fall, we couldn’t be more excited for you! You’ve got the cooler temps, all the Halloween fun around the parks, EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, and so much more to look forward to. That being said, there is one “not-so-magical” thing that could impact your fall trip — price hikes. Let’s talk about it, so you’re not caught unaware.

As we were saying, fall is THE time to visit Disney World. You’ve got the parks decked out in Halloween decorations, which honestly makes everything feel even more magical. Plus, all the exciting updates like TRON Lightcycle / Run now using a standby line and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure being open. If you’re an EPCOT fan, the Food & Wine Festival is going strong. You’re not going to want to miss out on all those delicious bites from around the world.

But amidst all these changes, there is one thing that could put a slight damper on your Disney budget — food prices are set to increase this fall.

If you’ve been to Disney World pretty regularly, you might already know that price increases happen almost every year. Whether it’s hotels, park tickets, or food, Disney’s prices tend to inch upwards, especially in October, which means that prices are likely to go up again soon.

Now, we’re not talking about a massive jump where suddenly Mickey pretzels cost as much as your mortgage, but expect to see a small bump in prices. We’ve usually seen somewhere between 50 cents to $2 per item. While that doesn’t seem like a lot on its own, it can quickly add up, especially if you’re feeding a family or eating multiple meals in the parks every day.

Pizzerizzo Full Spread

So, what does this mean for your trip budget? Well, you may want to plan on adding an extra $10-$15 per day to your food budget just to be safe. We know that’s not ideal, but it’s better to be prepared than caught off guard, right? And, if the prices don’t go up, it’s a win and you’ll have a little more room in your budget for an extra Dole Whip or two!

Capt. Cook’s Full Spread

We’re not exactly sure why Disney World always seems to increase food prices around this time of year. Maybe it’s to get ahead of the massive holiday crowds that hit in November and December, but that’s just us throwing on our speculation ears. All we know is, it’s been a trend for the past several years, and it seems likely to happen again.

Also, keep in mind that it’s not just food. We’ve seen merchandise and souvenirs tend to go up in price too, so if you’ve got your eye on that super cute Haunted Mansion shirt, you might want to grab it sooner rather than later. Just saying.

Well, that’s the scoop! Until then, we’ll be keeping a close eye on any updates, so be sure to follow AllEars for the latest news from Disney World.
