Things People Do That Cause Outrage in Disney World

Disney World is the Most Magical Place on Earth… well, sometimes.

Magic Kingdom

We go to Disney World every day and have noticed that sometimes, other visitors can really affect the quality of your trip. Everyone deserves to have a magical trip, but sometimes, inconsiderate things that other visitors do can affect your day in the parks. We compiled a list of four things that always happen when we visit that sometimes cause us outrage.

Have you ever been to Disney World and someone did not respect your personal space? Or did someone talk super loudly during a ride? We have all been there, and these are four things that other people do that cause outrage at Disney World.

When People Cut In Line

Picture this: You are waiting in line for a popular attraction like Rise of the Resistance in Hollywood Studios, and you have been in the queue for over an hour when suddenly, a family tries to squeeze by you.

Rise of the Resistance

We have heard all the excuses before, and sometimes they are valid. It is totally understandable to have to leave the line to use the restroom, or sometimes, a person utilizing the new DAS system will have to rejoin their party in line, and that is totally okay.

What we are talking about are the large families who claim that someone is holding their spot in line or the people who just start pushing to make their way to the front. It can be really frustrating to see people cut when you have done the right thing and waited.

When People Use Flash on Dark Rides

We totally understand that you may want to remember your trip by taking as many photos as possible. Hey, we get it. We take tons of photos around Disney World every day. The problem is when people use flash on an attraction, especially a dark ride.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

While you wait in line for an attraction, the speaker repeats that flash photography is not allowed, yet people still ignore this.

Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid

Having flash go off on rides can really ruin the experience for others who are also trying to remember their trip. Now, we have all been there when our flash accidentally goes off, but as a good rule of thumb, make sure your flash is off before you start to film or take pictures.

When People Do Not Respect Your Personal Space

There are times when you can be shoulder-to-shoulder with people at Disney World. This could be at a popular show like Fantasmic! in Hollywood Studios or on Main Street during Happily Ever After. While these situations are never ideal, they are expected.

Happily Ever After

But there are other times when people don’t regard personal space. When a child continuously decides to kick the back of a seat on a ride or someone is swinging their backpack around, it can be annoying for those around them. Accidents do happen, but as a rule of thumb, try to give people a little bit of space.

When People Litter

Disney World custodial Cast Members work so hard to keep the parks clean and looking pristine. It can be frustrating to watch someone throw their trash on the ground instead of walking to the nearest trash can.

It is a well-known piece of Disney trivia that Walt Disney figured that people would drop their trash after about 30 steps. So, to combat trash being tossed on the ground, trash cans were placed every 30 feet to help keep trash off the ground.

Why You’ll WANT to Talk to a Trash Can in Disney World

So, if you have a piece of trash that you really want to get rid of, just walk a few more steps, and odds are there will be a trash can in sight!

Everyone deserves to enjoy their visit to Disney World, and out of courtesy to others, try not to be that person. As we said, though, accidents, mistakes, and emergencies do happen, and in some cases, these things that cause others outrage do have their reasoning behind them.

  1. There’s also nothing like having a stroller rammed into the back of your legs by someone
not paying any attention at all. An individual mistake is one thing while multiple
hits by one person is another thing.

  2. The other annoying thing we kept coming across a few weeks ago was people FaceTiming during rides to show their family that didn’t make the trip. It was super rude to interrupt all of our experiences with the loud conversations. The one that stands out was not being able to hear anything on the safari because of a rude family doing this.

  3. Another outrageous behavior: blocking the view of others around you. This can take the form of not removing hats or Mickey ears during a show like Philharmagic, or putting a child on your shoulders during fireworks. Often, people have waited an hour to secure a prime viewing spot, only to have it ruined by thoughtless guests.
