MASSIVE REVIEW: We Tried 9 NEW Disney Halloween Treats and 2 Were the Clear Winners

Halloween has officially arrived at Disneyland Resort and we couldn’t be more excited!

It’s Halloween time at Disneyland!

Not only does this mean that the parks are decorated for the spooky season, but Oogie Boogie Bash is right around the corner and we can’t wait to experience that special event again this year. But it also means it’s time to grab all the exclusive snacks available this time of year, and that’s EXACTLY what we did!

There are TONS of new snacks available for this time of year, and we’re gonna take you through each one we tried so you know if it’s worth the money or not. Starting off strong, we headed to Edelweiss Snacks to grab the Fantasyland Garlic Cheesy Brat!

Fantasyland Garlic Cheesy Brat

This whole thing is very heavy and rich. The sausage has a major pop to it, which we loved, but it was a little hard to cut into! The flavor is pretty butter heavy — may have been even stronger than the garlic. Thankfully, it’s not super greasy and it’s certainly a hearty snack that’s great for sharing. Overall, we enjoyed it, but we aren’t sure if we’d get it again!

It’s a LOT

Then we headed over to Tiana’s Palace to grab the Strawberry Pie-Filled Beignets, which we’re sad to say were not great.

Strawberry Pie-Filled Beignets

They were premade, meaning that as they sat there, the bottoms got all soggy from sitting in the sauce. The actual strawberries on top are good and taste fresh, but the filling is more of an artificial strawberry flavor, which we didn’t enjoy.

However, then we hopped in line at the Mint Julep Bar to grab the Tangy Apple Mickey-shaped Beignets! This is the first time our reporter tried a flavored beignet and actually liked it. Usually, the flavors Disney uses are so artificial tasting. But this tangy apple one was great, especially when dipped in the caramel sauce, which they don’t give you a whole lot of.

These were also served piping hot — so much so we couldn’t even touch them for a bit! The apple coating is both sweet and a tiny bit sour, and the caramel is the perfect consistency (not too watery, nice and thick). Overall, this was a winner in our book!

They were so good!

We headed to Tropical Hideaway next to grab the Monstropolis Float! The float is super refreshing on a hot day, like it was when we tried it. You have to like tropical flavors, though, because it’s pretty heavy on the coconut! The coconut flavor of the juice hits first and then leaves a little passion fruit aftertaste.

The lychee pieces with blueberry “pupils” are super fun and tasty too! The pineapple mango dole whip is topped with ube dust, which isn’t too strong, so don’t stress if you’re not a fan of that flavor. Overall, this is a fun one, and we really liked it, but, again, you have to be a tropical flavors fan!

It melts very fast!

Over at the Plaza Inn, you can grab the Poison Apple Cake, which was unfortunately not for us. While the cake itself is red velvet, the filling has more of an apple spice flavor.

The cake is very moist and fresh, but the flavor is more artificial tasting than we’d like. It’ll also stain your teeth FOR SURE, so keep that in mind!

It WILL stain you

Next up was the Ghost Pepper Turkey Leg that you can grab from select outdoor vending locations around the park! If you can get past the juicy mess, it’s actually pretty good! We personally would love to cut the meat off the bone and make a little sandwich because it’s got some great flavor.

The spice is nice, very Disney-level spice (which means it has a kick, but it’s not too intense). The skin is much spicier than the meat underneath, so keep that in mind too!

Yum!

Our second to last treat of the day was the Taro Bread Pudding from Aunt Cass Café in Disney California Adventure! It’s not super photogenic, but it’s very tasty! It’s sweet and moist with a nice light flavor.

Taro Bread Pudding

There was no official sign for it, but it has a taro and white chocolate base. The sauce is coconut vanilla, and it’s got tapioca pearls on it. It’s very coconut heavy though; we tasted little to no chocolate, so again, you’ve gotta be a fan of coconut!

Not pretty, but it’s good!

Lastly, we grabbed the Garlic Cream Cheese Bread from select outdoor vending locations in Disney California Adventure. This was the best thing to end the day with! It was our reporter’s second favorite thing from the day, and they liked it much better than the pretzel garlic roll at Maurice’s & Edelweiss.

Garlic Cream Cheese Bread

This treat is made with Hawaiian Sweet rolls, which are for sure the superior bread, and the smooth cream cheese is perfect. The hint of garlic and the sweet bread with hot honey drizzle is a great flavor combination. It’s served warm and surprisingly looks very similar to the actual display photo, which is rare! The garlic isn’t too heavy on this, and it’s not greasy like the pretzel one, which we really appreciated.

SO. GOOD!

We’ll continue to try out the new snacks we find around Disneyland and Disney World for the Halloween season, so be sure to stay tuned to AllEars!
