2025 is only a few short months away when you think about it, and we’re honestly having trouble believing it.

We’re getting ready to head into some of the busiest seasons of the year in Disney World, as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and winter holidays almost always bring in massive crowds to celebrate in the parks. If you’re working on planning your trip for 2025 and really want to make sure you’re avoiding massive crowds where you can, these are the dates you REALLY want to avoid!
New Year’s Day — January 1st, 2025
We know, spending the first day of the new year in Disney World sounds pretty amazing, and it is!

However, be ready for some intense crowds, because you and hundreds of your closest friends all had the same idea.
Walt Disney World Marathon — January 8th-12th, 2025
runDisney events almost always bring MASSIVE crowds to the parks, and this one will be no different…

…Especially because it’ll be the first one of the year! While it’ll be chilly in Orlando, it won’t be freezing, and often that’s preferable weather to run in instead of the blazing heat.
Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend – January 18th-20th, 2025
Holiday weekends are often very popular for families who have time off school and work and want to get a quick trip in.

MLK weekend is the first one of these in the new year, so prepare for some heavy crowds!
National Dance Team Championships — January 31st-February 2nd, 2025
Events at ESPN Wide World of Sports bring in MASSIVE crowds to the parks, and the first one of the year on the schedule now is the National Dance Team Championships.

Since it’s national, there will be teams from all over the country, meaning a lot of them will want to spend extra time in the parks to really soak it in!
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend — February 20th-24th, 2025
Another runDisney event happens in February where, again, a lot of people will take advantage of the cooler running weather.

Not to mention that the runners and their families will then take to the parks for the rest of the day to enjoy their time in the Most Magical Place on Earth. We love that for them, but expect all the crowds.
runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend — April 3rd-6th, 2025
Next up is the spring race, and since this sometimes falls right when spring break happens for many kids, the crowds may be EXTRA large!

Pack your patience with you friends, and maybe budget for Lightning Lane Multi Pass!
Cheerleading Worlds — April 25th-28th, 2025
Next up at the ESPN Wide World of Sports is the Cheerleading Worlds, which is, literally, one of the largest events for cheerleading in the WHOLE WORLD.

So, just like with the dance competition, crowds the week before and after may also be large as teams choose to stay longer to experience the parks fully.
Memorial Day Weekend — May 24th-26th, 2025
Another holiday weekend arrives in May, and just like the others, families will flock to the parks.

This is especially true if the kids are about to get out of school and won’t really be missing anything too important — beware, friends!
4th of July Week
Really, the entirety of 4th of July week is something to be wary of, but ESPECIALLY 4th of July itself.

Disney often releases special treats for this holiday and has a special fireworks show, and that attracts a lot of Disney fans!
World Dance Competition — July 9th-14th, 2025
ANOTHER dance competition arrives in July, and this one includes teams from all over the world.

We love seeing the teams live out their best lives as they compete and then have fun in the parks, but for the rest of us, the crowds can be aggravating!
Labor Day Weekend – August 30th-September 1st, 2025
Another holiday weekend!

This one is especially popular too since many families aren’t back in school yet, but are taking one last trip before the year starts again, and for others, it’s their first break of the year, so why not celebrate at Disney World?
Indigenous Peoples Day Weekend — October 11th-13th, 2025
By the time we get to October, there’s ANOTHER holiday other than Halloween that attracts crowds.

This one won’t be as large as other holiday weekends, but it’s still something to look out for!
Thanksgiving Week
One of the largest weeks in Disney World is Thanksgiving week!

Not only because the park is already decorated for Christmas, but because kids are out of school and many parents are off work for the whole week, so taking a trip to Disney World seems perfect!
Christmas Week
But the week of Christmas is easily one of the most crowded weeks EVER.

We know, it’s super magical to spend the days leading up to Christmas here, but be prepared for TONS of high wait times and elbows brushing everywhere you go.
New Year’s Eve — December 31st, 2025
And now we’re right back where we started, but because a lot of people want to spend the LAST day of the year in Disney World as well!

Especially because Disney World often has special events around the park to celebrate the beginning of the new year, and who doesn’t love that?

It’s also important to be on the lookout for any days that Magic Kingdom closes early! Right now, the calendar doesn’t go out that far, but things like after-hours events, holiday parties, and private events that close the park down early won’t be great for those wanting to spend the whole day in the park. It does mean there may be lower crowds though, so keep that in mind!
