“Expensive Rooms But Worth It” — Fan Has Thoughts on Disney World’s Priciest Hotel

Disney World offers tons of hotel options at varying price points.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Disney World hotels are grouped based on price points. There are Value, Moderate, and Deluxe resorts. Each of these classes of hotels offers different amenities, but they all come with amazing Disney theming and several perks. Deluxe resorts, being the most expensive, offer multiple restaurants, shops, and extra perks such as Extended Evening Hours in select parks on select nights. But there is one Deluxe resort that many might say is even a step above the rest of the Deluxe hotels, and one fan has some thoughts about this fancy resort.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is right next to Magic Kingdom. You can take the Disney Resort Monorail directly from the hotel to the park or even walk on the pathway that takes you directly there.

The hotel is a Victorian-style resort with Mary Poppins and Disney Princess theming. And it is simply beautiful and elegant. It’s directly across the lake from Magic Kingdom, so you can watch the fireworks shoot above Cinderella Castle right from the grounds or your room. There is exquisite dining at the Grand Floridian including the Michelin Star-rated Victoria & Alberts, Narcoosee’s, Citricos, and more.

The Grand Floridian also has Disney Vacation Club villas so members or those who rent DVC points can stay in the DVC sections of the resort. This area also includes its own separate pool area.

There are a lot of great things about Disney’s Grand Floridian resort; it’s certainly one of our favorites. However, the downside of this gorgeous hotel is that since it is a top-tier Deluxe resort, it comes with a pretty high price tag per night. But one of our readers who recently left a review on AllEars for the Grand Floridian shared, “Expensive rooms but worth it. Besides that, I can’t think of any cons.” And honestly, that’s kinda how we feel too!

These readers shared that they stayed at the Grand Floridian while Hurricane Ian was passing through the area, but said that their stay was still wonderful. They added, “Disney cast members went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable during our stay especially when the hurricane was happening.”

When the hurricane wasn’t around, they mentioned lots of great things about the hotel, stating, “The pools were great and relaxing, having access to a gym, walking paths to the other resorts, Magic Kingdom, and access to the Monorail adds a nice touch.” They continued, “The resort is overall beautiful and fun little hidden details throughout the resort were fun to see. It was so relaxing and a nice home away from home.”
