REVIEW: We Tried the Food at Disney’s Private Island Destination — Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point

Ready to sail away on a Disney Cruise?

The Disney Magic docked at Lookout Cay

We were lucky to get to experience Disney’s new private island, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, and now we’re bringing you our review of two restaurants on the island — True-True BBQ and Serenity Bay BBQ.

Come with us as we check out True-True BBQ and Serenity Bay BBQ on Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point!

Background

Located on the Bahamian island of Eleuthera, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is the latest exclusive destination available only to Disney Cruise passengers on certain Disney Cruise Line itineraries.

Lookout Cay

The Bahamian island of Eleuthera just got a major upgrade — Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point! It’s the latest exclusive spot only for Disney Cruise passengers on select itineraries. Talk about a dream destination!

Atmosphere

We were totally awestruck by the beauty of Eleuthera Island. Imagine pristine white sands, crystal-clear blue waters, and stunning rocky outcroppings dipping into the sea. It’s like something out of a dream!

Food & Drinks

Now, let’s talk about the food and drink situation.

Lookout Cay

Finding a spot at Serenity Bay BBQ and True-True Too BBQ was a bit of a mission. We waited a solid 10 minutes for a table and some of us even had to share with other guests.

And don’t even get us started on the fly situation — it was straight-up chaotic. But hey, we’re giving Disney a pass as it was their first day serving passengers, and we can only imagine what the chaos was like behind the scenes.

DRINKS

As for the drinks, they’re kind of forgettable especially compared to Castaway Cay.

Blue Hole Bar

I mean, there are tons of bars here, but they’re all basically the same. You can’t really find that one spot that makes you go, “This is where I wanna be.”

FOOD

One of the things that you’ll notice is that both restaurants basically share the same menu even though Serenity Bay BBQ is only for adults and True True Too BBQ is for everyone.

Menu

For the food, we kicked things off with the Beach BBQ Burger and fries. It was a solid burger (pretty much what you’d get at Disney parks). Just a heads-up: the burgers come pre-made with all the fixings (pickles, red onion, tomato).

But we saw a mom ask for a plain one, and they sorted her out, so don’t hesitate to ask if you need it plain.

Standbys like burgers and hot dogs are available.

Next up, BBQ Ribs and Roasted Chicken. The rotisserie chicken was tender but not super flavorful (it was bone-in FYI). If you’re not into that, try the chicken sandwich instead.

The ribs? They were amazing! They were saucy and flavorful, and the meat was falling right off the bone.

The bell peppers on top added a fresh crunch. They were definitely the best thing we tried.

Baked Mac and Cheese

And the baked mac and cheese? Super creamy, and cheesy, with a nice crunch. It was a total win!

Should You Go?

Overall, we enjoyed the meals, but we’re aware they weren’t really anything to write home about. We were full though, so there’s that. Also, based on our visit, the real downside is when trying to find a place to sit. Be prepared — you may or may not have to wait a while before snagging a seat.

True-True Too BBQ

Other than that, our team had a blast at Lookout Cay, but we’re not sure it’s worth making a special trip just for it. One of us summed it up perfectly: “I don’t know if the destination itself warrants planning a trip around it.” That said, if you’re a cruising regular, Lookout Cay is definitely worth a visit for a fresh experience!
